clutch pedal squeek
clutch pedal squeek
i've noticed a squeel when depressing the clutch pedal quite frequently over the last few thousand miles. it sounds like something could be flexing and making the noise, like the sound an office chair makes when you lean back in it. not sure though. does something need greasing or the whole pedal assembly possibly getting ready to snap? anyone try the clutch pedal reinforcement kit? (i forget by who). this issue isn't covered by the 100k powertrain warranty is it?
OK.. I just posted on a thread where you asked if disconnecting the battery resets your PCM and I let it go without flaming.
But this... come on now... this is another known fact/issue.
Are you being serious?

And................no it won't be covered by warranty.
Is the search button broken?
If it does end up breaking on you, please search for the thread about reporting it and do report it.
Awwwww..........the hell with it..................use this if it does break!
FOR THOSE WHO GOT A BROKEN CLUTCH PEDAL !
Please report your case to NHTSA at

Because under normal driving condition, a clutch bracket should NOT break. and imagine if you're in the middle of highway speed, the bracket gave up and locked you in gear and you need to brake fast ...

simmer, don't flame, MR.: MY POST COUNT IS 4000+ SO I KNOW EVERYTHING.
^no you dont
sounds like your clutch pedal is going to snap on you, its an easy fix and i recommend not going to the dealership, because even if you do, you are still left with the same design clutch pedal that you had on there to begin with, just newer. Thus resulting in failure in the future...
you can take the clutch pedal out your self, if i remember correctly i has something like 4 bolts and 2 connectors, undo that and the pedal assembly should pop right out. Now for about 20 bucks you can take it to a welding shop ( im pretty and shop that knows welding will do it) and have them weld more spots around the bracket...

If you got this upset with what I posted, be prepared for worse if you continue to ask these questions that have been discussed numerous times here.
Other members here (with higher post counts too) are known to be a lot more vocal than I was.
Anyway... good luck with the squeaking clutch.
Wow... you sure are a sensitive and fragile one.

Basically, your clutch pedal is going to snap.
You'll get in another accident, be pissed off at the car, etc.
Get a bracket, or get someone to weld it.
Stop being condescending when people are trying to show you the way, there's probably 3 active threads right now on this very topic.

Do it now
That revealed master cylinder is bad.
OM replaced master cylinder
revealed that clutch weld broke, leading to these problems.
I'm looking at $1400+ in repairs.

But you know a fair amount about changing coils.
