Hello!

I am new to this forum. After lurking for the past few days, I decided to join after reading a lot of useful information and well thought out posts.

I have been an S2000 owner since the first day of it's release in 9/99 and really love the car. I have just pre-ordered a Sunlight Silver Metallic six-speed GTP with red leather and NAV.

Many of my S2000 buddies are warning me about chronic oil seal problems on rotary engines and I am a little concerned. Can any previous RX-7 owners enlighten me regarding this potential problem?

Wrong forum (should be in tech talk), but I am not aware of oil seal problems... I'm aware of cooling problems in the RX-7s... and apex seal problems.. that's it though.

what he said :)

this may be a surprise for you, but rotaries are designed to burn oil during normal operation, FYI

From what I've read in the past (and from experience with my old RX-7), the seals in the N/A rotaries seem to hold up really well.

Heck, even in a stock Turbo 13B, they do ok. It's once people start modifying them, and once the engine begins to run lean, then the engines will begin to break down the seals.
