Hi guys, I'm Jason and I just recently bought an 05 Rx8 Pearl. She has 76000 miles on it, (yes I know quite alot) but she has all the oil records and I have a 3 year warranty on her as well, I paid $14950. I just wanted to introduce myself and get to know everyone. I also have a question: Does anyone find shifting to reverse a bit hard? Or is it a problem with the tranny? ALSO I just got a 60 day autocheck unlimited report account so if anyone wants me to check a VIN I'll gladly do it for free.

Here's a pic: (I took it from a camera phone, my camera camera broke)

You will understand why soon enough and to answer your first question, that is the Mazdaspeed kit, it costs a pretty penny for the authentic one. :)

Welcome and thanks for posting a pic. And also for the VIN offer.

Make sure you are pressing down on the shifter while you move it into reverse. The push down mechanism is there to prevent you from shifting into reverse while you're driving forward.

The 8 is a great car that requires a lot of TLC. Start searching and reading threads. :)

Where are you located?

Thanks for the welcomes, I didn't know about the press down for reverse, thank you. Now I won't look like an idiot trying to go backwards!
