in march i would like to make my first major purchase for the RX

i was thinking one of the following

18" rims not sure on style as yet

Veilside Lip Kit

Performance Mods. (prob exhaust and springs to being)

which of the 3 do you think is the best option and why. I am putting this out there just so i can see what others would do..

Well I would recommend to forget the rims seperately and get the GT Package (comes with 18's) and go with the exhaust and add Canzoomer's ECU upgrade rather than springs. Of course this is IMHO.

Save your money, wait until you have all the money, and BAMN, buy it all. By that time more products will have come out, and thus more options for you to play with.

I have 8k saved, 4k more and I'm set to burn. :P

i cant spend that much at once. I budget myself to a spefic amount on car mods every year. and ima aching to do something now. so in 2004 ima use 2 years budget just to get the RX-8 moving in a direction i wish.

as much as i love cars i can not spend that much on the car especially during the finance stage.

part of me says dont mod the car just pay of the finance instead (but comon now!!! what fun is a stock car :-) )

First thing - have a plan for what you'd ultimately like your 8 to become. Performance mods, appearance mods - list the ones you'd like, list your priorities (show car? Drag? Handling?), then develop your plan based on those priorities. Reconcile any conflicting objectives and tradeoffs, consider them in advance - ie heavy big wheels vs. handling performance, heavy body kits vs. performance, etc. Every person's priorities are different, and you should figure out in advance what's important to you.

After that, deciding on mods and the order of them becomes easy. But do the plan!

Regards,
Gordon

Gord96BRG,

I will be AutoX this year. I want to just have fun moding the car. Im not crazy on Apperance mods. Appearance if anything clear corners, bodykit rims(big maybe right now) springs (which is dual purpose)

i would like a lil on the performance side.

I was thinkin of making it a show car but i dont have 10K to spend on making it all flashy.
unfortunatly at shows a stock looking car with great performance is nothing special.

and now the big thing is conversions... yeah NOT happening, if i didnt like...wait LOVE the looks of the RX i wouldnt have bought it.
