UG_8 01-16-2004, 02:15 AM Hiya...me not from Thailand though...how much is the 8 in Thailand? M-ster 01-16-2004, 02:56 AM Originally posted by UG_8 Hiya...me not from Thailand though...how much is the 8 in Thailand? From Singapore and you're asking about car prices overseas? You are looking for miserable man:D UG_8 01-16-2004, 05:57 AM hhaha car price in SG is crazy...I know. Wanted to convince my friend in TH to buy the 8 mah... RX-8Mania 01-20-2004, 02:31 PM It's 3,750,000 Baht or US$93,750. The car is pretty expensive here. I guessed it's also expensive in SG :-) UG_8 01-20-2004, 07:54 PM Wow that is expensive...much more than Singapore. Guess your import tax must be very high. RX-8Mania 01-21-2004, 12:35 PM Really? I knew that some car models like Mercedes is much more expensive in Singapore. How much is the price of RX-8 in Singapore anyway? May I declare we have the most expensive RX-8 in the world? Haha SQ88 01-21-2004, 02:06 PM ============================================== It's 3,750,000 Baht or US$93,750. The car is pretty expensive here. ============================================== Holly Crap!!! That is very expensive. To own RX8, one must be pretty well off. In Canada, the price starts at $36,795 in Canadian Dollar. I am glad that I live in Canada because I could never be able to afford and drive the RX8 in Thailand. (I am mixed Thai and Chiness!!!) Neon 01-22-2004, 10:44 AM Its about SG $ 150,000 for TYPE S here. Guess dats about USD $88. I hereby declare you DO HAVE the mose expensive RX-8 in the world!!!! :D Neon 01-22-2004, 10:45 AM 88K i mean.... not 88 dollars! :P hotpot 01-24-2004, 07:03 AM Here in Mauritius a parallel import cost about US$72,000. Thank heavens it is rated as a 1300 cc. If it was say a 2000 cc it would have been around US$97,000 as import duties depend on cylinder capacity. eTiMaGo 12-09-2005, 04:32 AM Soon to be a proud owner here ;) Yup, import taxes here are around 300%, lovely, isn't it? Mania, what are your experiences driving this car in our wonderful city? lennon 12-09-2005, 06:35 AM Soon to be a proud owner here ;) Yup, import taxes here are around 300%, lovely, isn't it? But how come Thai Police drive Benz.... Lucky for those criminal... :mdrmed: Never yet seen a police Benz, must be for special occasions only... Mainly pickup trucks and corollas... not like Singapore, last time I was there, saw a police Impreza, probably not stock either, good luck for speeders there, and don't get too influenced by Need for Speed Most Wanted :mdrmed: RX-8Mania 12-09-2005, 08:43 AM eTiMaGo, I'm selling my car. The car released too much heat for this hot city. I could not believe the value of RX-8 dropped more than 40% after 24 months. Too bad :( eTiMaGo 12-09-2005, 09:28 PM eTiMaGo, I'm selling my car. The car released too much heat for this hot city. I could not believe the value of RX-8 dropped more than 40% after 24 months. Too bad :( Serious? That's too bad... Did you have an extra oil cooler installed? The guys at the Mazda showroom said it's really a good idea in this weather. Anyway, how much are you selling it for, I have a friend who is interested. RX-8Mania 12-11-2005, 11:41 AM I didn't know abou the extra cooler but I don't think it can help with the heat in the cabin. I sold my car for 2.2 million Baht. That's a huge drop from the original price of 3.75 million Baht, 24 monhts ago. Gyus if you don't know what the numbers are about. Here you go Original Price: USD $93,750 Current Price: USD $55,000 :( eTiMaGo 12-11-2005, 01:03 PM Yikes that's quite a drop.. Got this from from SEC (Parallel import), basic price 3.3 million, plus insurance, interest, yadda yadda, adds up to a bit more than that :p Cabin heat? Well, today was actually very hot, inside was not really a problem, aircond could handle it pretty well. The car is white, and there's V-kool tinting, so maybe that helps too... Engine compartment was really really hot after driving for a while though! I know rotaries do run hotter than piston engines, but what a heat wave when I opened the bonnet! DjRx8 12-12-2005, 11:54 AM RX8Mania- You sold your ride already? Aww! Was it M or A? Quoting your stated price of 3.7 mill. Baht I presume it's a M. I bought an A souped up with MS bodykit for 3.5 Mill. thru' a grey. I used to have the heat problem as well, but now, somehow, it's pretty much gone! First I thought that maybe it's just a fact that I got used to it (the heat), but it really is much cooler now... somehow. Drove it to Bkk and back without any heating problems and DAMNNNN! IT WAS FUN! (aside from the shitty road conditions and the *#%@ drivers in our beloved Country) I envy the guy who got your 8... whatta bargain! DjRx8 12-12-2005, 12:10 PM Oops! Excuse me! My 8 was 3.05 mill. RX8 Brunei 12-26-2005, 11:52 PM i think there's no proper mazda dealer in Thailand just like in Brunei. Here they manage to sell more than 30 units, but the aftersales service is really damn sucks. The price for RX-8 Type S here is B$54K at par with SGD. Zero_Rotary 03-06-2006, 11:58 PM Hi Guys, Im on training course in Bangkok now. Do you know where i can buy RX8 stuffs (performance or exterior parts)? appreciate your soonest response. Cheers eTiMaGo 03-10-2006, 04:50 AM Hi Guys, Im on training course in Bangkok now. Do you know where i can buy RX8 stuffs (performance or exterior parts)? appreciate your soonest response. Cheers Very good question, to be honest I have not looked into that yet (better wait until the car is paid off before screwing around with it). But apparently the local HKS dealership may have some performance parts, and you can get Mazdaspeed stuff through Mazda themselves. bitbit 03-10-2006, 08:16 AM Very good question, to be honest I have not looked into that yet (better wait until the car is paid off before screwing around with it). Usually cars are a little cheaper than Malaysia here (but you guys got cheaper fuel), but some parallel import cars they still overcharge ;) MS parts? As far as I know, you can place orders with the Mazda dealership. Never done it myself yet so I cannot tell you how much it would be or how long it would take. Might be better to try and import yourself? Not a lot of 8's in South Thailand? It's more of a case of not a lot of 8's in the whole of Thailand :p I think I might have only seen 3 other ones in Bangkok. Beerkung 03-13-2006, 02:01 AM I live in Bangkok, yeah...
