1st, its not a Skyline GT-R anymore, as Nissan has separated the Skyline (G37) and GT-R. 2nd, of course its not stock. It has the Switzer 800 tuning package, and has 700+hp. It does low 10s, and traps in mid 130s. It's a nice package.

The GT-R hit 200 MPH on the open road. Anyone notice the moisture on the windows? Crazy how fast both of them were going.

No doubt the GT-R will beat the Busa top end but the Busa rider is weak on his launches.
Busa speedo limited to about 186 and with drag bike/rider top speed would be even less.

Pico

However, the speedo limit on the Busa is a US DOT requirement. Don't know if other countries have the same regulations with the speedo's

Nothing wrong with the busa rider. It was wet outside and he is not going to hook up like a AWD car. Both were idiots for driving that fast on public roads.

that busa blows at launches... in fact almost dumped it once :\

my friend has an NA busa, and it will still run 218+ MPH.
most busa owners buy a replacement chip to disable the speed limiter.

No doubt, that GTR is fast, but it's not as fast as a busa in a top speed race. Otherwise that guy would hold a land speed record.

Mabye the busa rider pulled back due to the conditions :dunno: Either way extremely stupid to go that fast on public roads.

+1 they shouldn't be putting people in danger on public roads

I know that there was a chip for older model busa's.
I was told by my tech. that Suzuki had made the newer ECU's in all their bike unable to bypass. The only way to get these speeds is with a new ECU which would cost some big bucks

What I can see in the video is a newer busa 08+ (first bike) and a older busa 07- (second bike).
The second bike seem to hold up better against the GT-R. It could be the conditions, rider, mods, or the general year of each bike that caused these variables. But again, I don't know if the bikes in this video are using the same ECU's as we do here in the US.

Nevertheless, the GT-R is one kickass ride

1st, the whole GT-R/Skyline thing was an obvious ball buster. 2nd, you're welcome, ya lil bastard!:lol2:

But seriously, I was just sharing a lil info on the tuning package. There were some that werent sure if it was stock, and it's faaar from. If you are among the enlightened, then have a coke, a smile, and stfu :)

You guys DO realize that this is a heavily-modded professionally tuned GT-R, right?

Dude that is an Stock GTR. your link is a conspiracy against Nissan.

Considering there are GT-Rs with a simple AP reflash (AP now serves as a boost controller) pushing 540 awhp, I wouldn't call the Switzer P800 tune extensive. Tuners are just scratching the surface. Most of the HP increase is due to new plumbing, and intercooler upgrades. The snails are bone stock.

edit-Snails ARE upgrade. My bust. http://www.switzerperformanceinnovation.com/products_nissan-gtr.html

Great effin rides. Wouldn't anyone love to see a rotary powered car to compete? Love the GT-R, but a V6 can't give you the same emotion or rotary characteristics....too bad it won't happen.

Word is the R36 will be dropped in 2013 (despite the year being missing on the Mayan calendar and all). If they could make the GT-R lose 300-400 lbs, it would dominate pretty much every production car out with 5k of mods. It's just unfair.
