Hello everyone. Here's a link to a video of a black and a white RX-8 driving on snow!
Great news to me as I'm living in northern norway, just the same condition as this video shows the RX-8 driving in. You can also get a sense of the car's size beside a gas pump. Hope the mazda guys puts a decent heater inside the RX-8 :D
Clik on the "View video:" link from this story: Sweeden winter test (http://www.evo.co.uk/t/article/ae_videos-rx-8/copyautomedia-18-sep-02/id30046/story.htm)

I got cold just watching the video.

Nice Video. As I remember on another thread their has been talk about the cold weather performance of the tires. I imagine they were not using the stock tires for those driving tests.
No, for us living in scandinavia it's required to have special winter tires. With or without spikes! ;) (Depends on how much ice you drive on).

It looks like the RX-8 does ok in the snow. I live in Phila and we do get some snow here so the car must run in the snow! Does anyone have any additional information about the car in the snow?

to tell ya the truth, any car with the right tires can do well in snow.
I have an Opel GT, it's 2100 lbs and RWD. I have 4 snow tires on there, and the thing is a champ! I hardly ever spin out, and I come to stops easily, without locking up any wheels.
