Ok so three weeks ago I went to Mazda to get my spark plugs changed. And about a week ago I went in for a diagnostic for some rough idling and abnormal idle downward spikes, meaning its dropping about 200-300rpms and holding there. So they said I had a misfire in both rotor housings and worn out motor mounts. So I bought the mounts, coils and coil to spark wires like they recommended and had them installed by my own mechanic this time. While installing he asked me if they ever did change my sparks like they said cause they looked like crap. So after my parts are put on the rough vibrations went down, but it still idles crappy, and has bad vibrations when idling. I don't know if its still misfiring seeing as my car sounds like a helicopter still and could already be the "new" spark plugs or if it might be a worn out pulley/tensioner. Any help is appreciated thanks.

2004 65000 miles. And no its not the wong sub forum cause its not automatic, its not major performance upgrades nor is it engine tuning......

anyway...I'd pull those plugs out and look at them...to be sure they got changed and are in the correct spots...

Also clean ur MAF and make sure your air filter is clean

clean the air filter, clean the maf, and check to see that the spark plugs are in decent shape. (brown is okay, black is bad)

also, ensure that the spark plug wires are properly attached at the plugs and that they're plugged in accordingly. (yes, we've seen people hook them up wrong)

Look for a vacuum leak

Check the plug wires like in the pic that Jedi posted. Then check your oil level, intake filter, clean your maf senser and warm your car up before you redline it. If not you will foul your plugs. What do you mean when you say:"sounds like a helicopter"? is that when you give it gas?

yes Jedi is right we've seen quite a few ppl put the wires in the incorrect position haha

awesome thanks guys, i had my mechanic instal a K&N drop in filter when i had the coils replaced cause he had taken off the intake, so he threw it in there, so i will clean the MAF and check for vacuum leaks. I will also take that diagram and see if he plugged them correctly tomorrow. I always warm my car up until it hits its normal idle point and the temp guage is about halfway. And by helicopter, i mean when i sit at a light, or at any stop and it just idles there. Oh and sorry its not in the "tech" section, skipped over that.
