Why is a Z06 in a list of options with 3 sedans?

m3. 8400 rpm. The m3 is the only one out of those I have driven (e92 coupe), so I guess I am biased. But according to Clarkson, the BMW will mean you are a cock.

They don't call them douchemobile's for nothing...

My vote is for Z06, but that's the only one I've driven out of those 4... mostly because if I could afford a Z06, sedans wouldn't be in the list of possible alternatives :icon_no2:

Get the CTS-V, it has the same engine as the ZR-1 and all the awesomeness of a Cadillac interior.

Here's just a few things you can do to make it faster than ALL of those cars.

I think the caddy styling is really bad. Looks cheap somehow which is supposed to be the opposite of a caddy. The vette is cool, but the performance of the m3 is really, really good, and it's so much more practical. I think it does 0-60 in well under 4.5 if i remember correctly.

The CTS V does the 1/4 in 3.9 seconds.

you already have a fun car in the RX8. Id get a cheap car and invest rest of the money, we are still 40% from being back to 14,000 in the DOW. There hasnt been too many great oppurtunities to double, tripple or quadrupple your money in the next decade. You might be looking at ferraris or a beach house by then.

just my 2 cents.

Stock for stock the Z06 is only .2 seconds faster than the V, plus not nearly as comfortable.

^ nah you dont know anything about the cts v then my friend id pick the caddy anyday! the interior is better and it has more presence IMO ... also for all those wondering why the z06 is in there ... well i have a camaro already 2ss/rs and its not a z06 but its a 2 dr sports car so is my 8 thats why im considering the 4 door sedans just for sth more convenient ... since earlier ive ruled out the jag its beautiful but the auto is killing it ... also ive driven the m3 and the ctsv and i believe the ctsv is the better car any and every day unbiased ... then comes the z06 IF i can get that exact one

LOL, my order of preference
1 - M3 (arragance, sedan?)
2 - XF (Nice)
3 - CTS-V (its a cadi or an olds mans vet)
4 - ZO6 (everyone has one)

thanks for the input bro ... and yea i have a fun car in the 8 plus i have my new camaro but heres the deal with the housing market the way it is now its literally costing me a VERY VERY SMALL fraction of the check the insurance cut me to both build and furnish my new house so all the rest of the money is already being invested and saved plus im getting 2 seperate checks for my 335 and my gfs car totalling to more than i will spend on my car and we already got her an second car (suv) so i figured id spend the 50 odd k on sth i want since i have alot already being invested plus i have a secure job (work for my dads and uncles companies) and i get a car allowance perk of working with the old man :) so money that i would have been putting in installments for a car will be going straight to savings anyway see what i mean ... :) if i hadnt got a good sum of money i wouldnt have been buying a car but doing exactly what you said

My vote is for the M3. It will also hold its value the best of all the cars, IMHO. Last would be the XF - I have read in the long-term test, the electrical gremlins show up. I'd probably put the Cadi 2nd. C&D loved the CTS-V and it almost got first in a recent comparo test but had the manual which was a negative. Corvette ages someone into middle age crisis case.

I haven't ever really liked the way the CTS looks. Just something about it bugs me for some reason. My vote would go to the m3 or the vette. Does the vette have anything else done to it? than exterior stuff?

rodjonathan
11-12-2009, 08:51 PM
the interior on the vette is BEAUTIFUL ... everything is wrapped in leather (custom job) suede down the center of the seats to match the exterior and its tuned intake exhaust dynoed at 647 hp it says hes done some engine work not specified so ima call him for more details this weekend ... also i think the cts v is sexy but if the vette doesnt sell im getting that ... its down to the cts v and vette m3 is now off the list ... major reason being i had the 335 and i know the m3 is an m car but its too close for me to get it again :) honestly the only car id repeat would be my 8 :)

nothin like BMW engineering. Honestly, i can't describe the difference in the all around feel of their cars. Having driven the V, ZO6 and the M3, and owning 2 beamers, I would def go with the M3. More practical, better handling car, not heavy like the V, goes like stink. Resale value is also much much better than any GM product. But that might not mean anything to you, idk, just my opinion!

lol thanks for the input this is exactly what tore me between the 2 but after driving the v then a friends m3 back to back i would personally pick the v of course the m3 is german but the americans deserve a round of applause for the v ... and performance wise the v is more in the m5 playground than the m3 so it will definitely outperform the m3 also resale value doesnt matter to me ... right now it depends on the z06 if it doesnt sell when i go to see it its mine if not ill go with the cts ...

i'd check insurance rates for every single one of them. that may help you decide.

Drive a Z06 and pretty much everyone except domestic-haters will love you... you'll even love yourself because you made the right choice.

Unless your over 50 years of age...The Jag is not for you..I'm a big fan of the M3, as well as the Vette. So really it's just down to what is more practical for you..

As for the CTS-V...it feels too big for me.

Why would anyone cross-shop a sedan against a sports car? Those two don't fit anywhere near the same criteria.

Wouldn't it be better to actually define your wants/needs and then get the car that fits?

What the hell would the point in keeping an AT 8 be?...

i like it too much to get rid of it ... plus its almost at 100k miles so i wouldnt really get much for it id much rather keep it ... plus i think my 8 is sexy ... the reason i have an at is coz it was supposed to be a temp car after i was all casted up from my car wreck but i fell in love with it and saw no point in loosing money trading for a mt so i bought a 2010 camaro mt and kept the auto 8 :) the z06 or v will definitely be a mt though (i think all they offer is mt too)
