If you have a gripe because something is missing start your own poll, there is only 10 slots. zerobanger 01-13-2004, 01:22 AM I love lucy of course. Where is Will and Grace? And SOAP? And Married With Children? OMG your missing too many. All in the family ownz too. RX-GR8 01-13-2004, 01:26 AM LOL i only had 10 slots to work with. if i had more i would choose MWC then SOAP then WAG, honorable mention Mary Hartman. Squidward 01-13-2004, 02:41 AM c'mon, the greatest sitcom of all time has got to be Three's Company.... Kaliken 01-13-2004, 10:41 AM I guess its my age but I have to say the simpsons. yeah I watched all of those shows but when I picked up the simpsons season 3 dvd the other day I realized how witty and satirical it really is! 8_wannabe 01-13-2004, 10:44 AM Taxi Red Devil 01-13-2004, 10:48 AM Since the Simpsons is being considered a sitcom, I'm going to go with none of the above and vote for South Park. ZoomZoomH 01-13-2004, 11:01 AM family guy ZoomZoomH 01-13-2004, 11:02 AM but seinfeld is the best show in that list, so i voted for that one sooo many popular cliches have been created from that show!!! SGC 01-13-2004, 06:35 PM What, no "Here's Larry" ? SGC klegg 01-13-2004, 06:49 PM I have to go with long term quality, and the Simpsons never lets me down.. klegg 01-13-2004, 06:49 PM Hey, does "coprock" count as a comedy? Cam 01-13-2004, 07:06 PM M.A.S.H. all the way. Seinfeld is a close second. Reeko 01-13-2004, 07:19 PM I loved MASH, but it tended to get too serious the last few years. It was hillarious when Macintire and Blake were on , but after that wasn't as funny. I voted for Cheers, which I allways loved...... khoney 01-13-2004, 08:08 PM Tough choices - I went with I Love Lucy - she was a comic genius. For me, Frasier would be a close second (if you had put it on the list instead of Friends, which you didn't) :) noahprtlnd 01-13-2004, 10:34 PM On that list, Seinfeld/Simpsons. But I would have included Three's Company and Family Guy. XeRo 01-14-2004, 10:48 AM Newhart....definitely Newhart.... "This is my brother darrell, and my other brother darrell.." wakeech 01-14-2004, 12:11 PM well, situation comedies suck, becuase they're formulaic and boring. that said, Family Guy and Simpsons aren't situation comedies. they're cartoon shows. no, they can't be both. the Simpsons and Family Guy are written in the same style as a sitcom, it's all sight gags (with hit-or-miss poignancy), with a few sometimes clever jokes. that said, i think they're some of the best American TV ever made. the best SitCom ever was I Love Lucy: look at the characters it portrayed, especially at the time it was made, how much it pioneered, how much it's been copied. the best. M*A*S*H is second for me, but only 'cause i always thought it was boring, and not very funny. but i did like how it was about a serious issue. very interesting, and a brave thing to try and do with TV (make people think, especially north americans). h0rde 01-24-2004, 02:26 AM there should probably be a separate poll for best cartoon series, if i may go so far as to suggest that there should be one more poll than there already is |
