Hey everyone, I'm almost certain that its time for a new clutch but just wanted to make sure with some expert advice!
Just yesterday my clutch started slipping alot right after shifting gears. for example, If I'm driving along in any gear and I give it a generous amount of gas the rmp's go up but the car doesn't seem to take off.
It also started smelling kinda bad after driving not that long. lastly i started to have grinding issues shifting into 4th from about a month ago only when driving at high rpm's tho.
The exesive slipping only became an issue this week.
Are these pretty strong signs that i need a new clutch? or could it be something else?
If i do need a new clutch, i've been looking at a couple of alternatives:
1)Exedy Stage 1 Racing Clutch
2)ACT F1 Street Racing Clutch
3) Sticking to Exedy OEM Clutch
Has anyone tried any of these, any comments on them?
I've heard nothing but positive things about the Exedy OEM clutch, however an increase in clamp could be nice:) That being said, i'm most concerned with durbility, so if these entry level race clutches are known to wear out alot faster than the OEM then they might not be the best choice for me!
Any suggestions or personal experice would help, thanks alot for your input!
