Having never owned a rotary powered car before I would like to know which garages in the GTA specialize in rotary engines?
Also, which of the Mazda dealers in the GTA are known for good rotary service?

Well, here are a few thoughts that are the result of my (limited) experience.
The shops I dealt with have either closed or branched out quite a bit from the rotary. Additionally, the shops I was familiar with that really knew and understood the rotary tended to be performance oriented, so the guys running them seemed just as interested in hopping up Hondas etc, after rotaries started becoming less common around '95. Also, as a member of the RX-7 club at the time, I found little consensus among members as to which shops were good and which ones were not.
My point is that most of the shops probably served the rotary with a more seat-of-the-pants attitude than you may wish to subject your new Renesis to. Hopefully the Mazda dealers will have a couple of really good rotary mechanics on staff.
Having said that, I think that CanJam is still in operation. They are on Green Lane in Richmond Hill, and always did good work for me. That was ten years ago, though, and my '83 RX-7 had a carbureted 13B from a late model RX-4, absolutely no emissions controls, and a free-flow exhaust. In other words, it was basically Wankel's creation as Wankel had intended it...

There is CP Racing in Orangeville (dont know how close that is to toronto, dont live in ON). They are a very honest shop and know their stuff when it comes to rotaries. Chris has always been on time with his stuff and stands behind his word.
Heres a thread from another forum about CP Racing.

You guys should sign up for the Rx-7 forum and do searches on these questions. We've been over this exact stuff countless times as drOx will attest to, so the data is already ready to go.

Consensus seems to say stay away from A-Spec
We'll have to get you guys to bring your Rx-8's out to the Rx-7 meetings held throughout the season.

I would love to come out when I get my car. THANKS!!!
Yeah, Aspec has a pretty bad rep. Best thing to do is learn the rotary yourself. They are pretty simple (and heavy as fuck) little things.
