I just put in my deposit for a 6spd red, black cloth, sport. I wanted the red leather but did not want sunroof, BOSE, heated seat or the $3900 price tag of the GT package. I pre-orderred at Cory Fairbanks Mazda in Orlando. Anyone else have place their orders in FL?

I pre-ordered my 6MTGT at Quality Imports in Ft. Waton Beach (panhandle). I also went for the velocity red. I so can'r wait to see it. In a couple of the press kit photos, it looks very metallic (almost having a brassy sheen), but others appear more solid. I'll be stoked if it's brassy, but still thrilled of its solid.

I went to the dealer and checked out all the paint that had "Mica" in them. Everyone of them was metallic in some way. Plus from the numereous photos from autoshow posted elsewhere on this forum, the Velocity Red Mica is definitely metallic.

Ordered a Silver/Black Leather 6 spd GT without nav.

Ordered my Red 6MT from Palm Beach Mazda. Didn't need the heated seats but I had to have the leather, so I went for the GT package and all black leather seats. They say that they have about seven (7) coming in in early April, two are already spoken for. There was a red one coming in that order but it had the black & red leather seats and the nav system. I don't think I need the nav system and I think that black & red leather would get to me after a while... So they ordered one JUST FOR ME!

Most sources so far said the first allocation is in late May or early June. I would set my sight toward June as to not be disappointed when April rolls around.

B-Nez.... Do you live in Ft. Walton, or are you in P-Cola and just buying your car over here? (I actually bought my car from Quality.)

I only ask because I live in Ft. Walton and would like to see your ride when you get it. :D

MP3, who are you going through at Quality? Did they tell you what their allocation was or how many pre-orders they have? I'm working with Gary Pearson. I first talked to him last winter, and gave him a deposit for 1st on list. He later sent the deposit back, but kept the list, so I just stuck with him. Interestingly, after I preordered, and my wife had gone in to complete the order, someone from Quality sent a text message to my mobile. There was no name, just the number. I'm guessing that someone got snubbed (internet sales mgr?).

FYI the Mazda Rotary Car Club of Florida has an arm in Pensacola. I know Dale and Jay out that way - used to hang with them a bit when I had my FC. Good dudes.

I had some time to kill today, so I stopped in to chat with Gary. I picked up a new RX-8 pamphlet (not a full brochure) that he had just received, and talked about allocation. That was enlightening.

Their allocation was 2 units. Not 2 a month, but 2 units until they are both sold. So, that means that until both cars are delivered and "closed out", they get no more. They ordered 2 cars - mine and a second one for the showroom. So, unless MNAO changes the rules midseason, mine will be the only RX-8 from Quality until the main production units hit the lot in the fall (if then). Then, they'll only get one for each one they've already sold. Wow. I am damned glad I got the #1 spot on that list last winter! I think I'll definitely be getting the upgraded security system.:)


BTW, I'll be posting pics of the pamphlet in the pics forum...

Another Florida preorder here! Just submitted my online order on Wednesday night and visited my dealer on Thursday afternoon 2/27 to confirm my order and give my $500 refundable deposit.

With my birthday being in September, I'm REALLY looking forward to my birthday present this year! The timing should be just perfect!:D :D :D

Mine should be here late May early June. $500 deposit on a fully loaded Silver w/ black leather, 6 spd w/ navi. Cant Wait!

I just spoke with my salesman a few days ago and he swears up and down that the cars are scheduled for April delivery. Maybe we are getting our cars before everyone else, eh? It would seem possible seeing as the cars for the entire east coast are coming in to Jacksonville from Japan. Man, that would be sweet... April... mmmm....

Hey JTek who was your sales guy. I also went to Gunther. Hugh told me the same thing Early Aprill. Did you sign up for the mazda Rev it up competition the weekend of June 1st. Its at gulfstream park.

Numerous times Mazda has said they will START building them in April. I hope you guys are good with tools to finish putting them together.;) But please prove me wrong because that means I'll be getting mine too!

My sales guy was Hector. He is really nice despite his (somwhat) lack of knowledge about the RX-8.

Yeah, I signed up for the Rev-It-Up event with my Brother-In-Law. We signed up for the May 31st at 9:00am.

According to DMV I'm suppose to put this on my current vehicle. A 1990 Honda Accord. I'm going to keep it in the trunk of the Honda for safe keeping until the 8 arrives. Hopefully in May.

Just took one of the dealer allocation for a Silver MT GT from Gunther. No eta on the delivery date.

I saw another RX-8 listed on the owner's registry from Ft. Walton Beach. Is that guy on this forum? I'd be interested to hear from you. Mine's registered under Crestview, FL.

I ordered thru Panama City Florida...just got word that it was completed and will be shipping out...sopose to be here round 3rd week of July (but we'll see)

Welcome to the forum, jcs. What did you order? I ordered a 6MT in velocity red from Quality in Ft. Walton.

I ordered a silver grand touring 6mt, couple of accessories. Is anyone organizing a meeting in our area of rx8s once they are here? Any word on when yours will be here? I heard on the water 6-30.

Ooooh, silver. Can't wait to see that. :D Arrival (while still tentative) will depend on which allocation you are in. Most of the 1st allocation cars should already be on the water (West Coast shipment hits port on Friday). Mine is in 1st allocation, so it better be on the water already!!

As for a meet, I caught wind via the MRCCFL mailing list of a Panhandle region get-together of some sort, but that is for ALL rotary-powered cars. I will email the sender for more info. It may be in PCola, Foley, Mobile, or Tallahassee. Not sure, will ask.
