It happened at the movies or at dennys. Im going to go to a body shop and see if they can buff it out. It went through the clear coat so it should be easy to buff out though. I am almost 75% sure that it happpened at dennys beacause there were about 10 people around my car.

sorry im venting

well on good terms now i ordered my k&n intake should be here in 2-5 days

I think flashyblue cars havea higher tendency of getting keyed for some reason. When mycar was in the bodyshop there was a pearl blue350z there that had also been keyed. Buttoday wasnt a good day for me either. When Icame back to the Dolphin mall parkinglot I found a tiny white ding in my passengerdoor. Its very small and you have be very close to notice it butif you run your finger through the door youcan definitely feel it. Thatsthe nature of this city.

You got that right... while living up here in the frozen tundra for the last couple years has it's chilly side, I certainly don't miss the absolute disrespect that my car used to get in SoFla... especially in broward/dade. I stopped leaving my Miata parked with the top down due to people spitting, throwing trash in it, door dings, etc. I moved up here and all that crap went away... I even left my top down for weeks this past summer (uninterrupted) everywhere I parked and no abuse. Too many haters down there! :(

Anyhoo- sorry for your pain eclips0 - in the words of Vincent Vega, I hope you catch the dickless piece of $hit that did that and return the favor.

that is so LAME...i woulda definitely hauled ass outside when I saw 10 people crowded around my 8...hell i was at the Wally world supercenter here and some dumbass red-neck pushed a shopping cart in my direction and i ran back and grabbed it and rolled it right into his ankles...needless to say he had some choice words that aren't permitted on this forum, but he got the picture...

hope all comes out well...Karma always catches up to those people...i just like to help it....heheh

Ive had discussions about this sort of stuff in the past. People who vandalize other peoples property are worthless pieces of cr%p. I wont go on because I get angrier and angrier.

There is a solution or a combination of things to resolve the problem.

1, Always park your car in the distant recesses of any parking lot.
Which usually works, to be extra safe take up two spaces.
(Simple solution dont know why more people dont do it, it does work.)

I always felt that there was a lot of hatin up here in CT, damn its that bad in southern fla.....

Yeah....I do what smooth says, besides taking up the 2 spaces part.
Because usually that provokes the jerks to key your car initially...

But always safe than sorry...

OH YEAH....Just park next to other nice cars....

Like an RX8 if you see one.!!!!!!

*Quick point* People always give me weird looks for taking up two spots everywhere I go, but heck im protecting my car ( or investment) which makes me feel good and who doesnt want to take care of their property.

Besides it kinda gives people a feeling of "theres someone i really dont wanna screw with". You basically get your point across by parking it like that.

I use to think that Rotor...I thought maybe I shouldnt do this because its going to provoke certain people but it actually hasnt.

I guess im an imposing figure.

Happened to my old Rover with a new paint job. The worthless dag that did mine got the whole block, and then did a bonus job on a jeep at the end of the block. I am a peaceful "can't we all just get along" sort, but I was heartbroken and really steamed... It is so juvenile and personal to key a car. My only wish for the perps is that they one day have a really nice car and someone keys it down into the metal. Grrr! What goes around comes around.

Sorry - the double parking space thing is an invitation to abuse if you ask me, plus in some areas it can earn you a ticket for being illegally parked as well (not to mention it's selfish and rude in what may be an otherwise busy parking lot).

It's easier just just being particular about where you park and who you park next to IMO.

I think you're inviting trouble by doing that, especially if the parking lot is less than half-empty. Don't you get it? People that disrespect others' property look for any reason to justify their actions. By double-parking, you're giving them one. I get pissed off when I see a car double-parked, unless there about 2 dozen empty spaces between it and the next closest car.

I agree- the only time I double park is if I go to the back of a big parking lot. I would never damage anybody's car for doing it, but I get pissed when I see some jerk doubleparking in a crowded lot, especially up front. You're just risking setting off a loose cannon with 8-envy.

Speaking of which- I went to lunch yesterday with my wife and parked way out of the way to avoid dings. While we're eating, the NFL crowd showed up and this place got packed, so I'm guessing that I'm not parked by myself anymore. Sure enough when I came out an asshole parked his yellow monsterous H2 within a foot of mine- I had to get in through the passenger side! I sooo wished I had driven a POS beater to throw my door open repeatedly into their new paint.

When I worked at this local arcade, all these wannabe thugs would come and play Street Fighter etc etc... Well, most of the time since we're done working, we would use our unlimited tokens and play these thugs. Of course we would kill them badly, and make them waste their money even more. So one day, this dinky 5'2" thug came in with his pretty cute g/f and played .. you guessed it.. Street Fighter IIIrd Strike. After like 2 hours, I saw her just standing next to him bored.. so since I am a prickmeister myself, I went over there and killed him on his game. I got so cocky I started beating him with one hand, on my knees, drinking a soda while playing one handed. And each time I beat him and smiled at his G/F. OH.. the point of this story? Well later that same evening he keyed my car. Our surveilence camera caught him keying the driver side... nice good ole paint damage.

But that's not the end of the story... later that same evening, he returned, thinking I didn't know he did that to my car. Instead of confronting him, I went out to do the nightly cleanup detail, and found his car. I grabbed my extra spare keys that I keep with me for just this occasion... saw his Integra Type R fully modded, and I kicked about 4 keys into his driver side, and 3 more keys into his passenger side. Nice big quarter size holes... of course I also took his "Honda" emblem.

Oh, and this was when I was 17 years old... never EVER do this again. Of course not. It's wrong, and dumb of "him" to try this on me. Man I'm a dick.

Muhahah I smashed a kids face against a wall for keying my ride, Little bastard trying to be thug. Detroits a rough city, but I was on the outskirts. Atleast I didnt get my rims stolen.

Moral of the Situation. You cant PARK anywhere by itself..its almost better to park (IF YOU CAN) in front of the window where u are dining. Thats what I TRY to do. If i know im going out for the night to the city.. I bring the other car...saves from crying after the dings and scrapes to the 8. But anywys..I feeel for you, I had some guy hit my car, i came out of the store..the whole side was $#%$ ed up. yeah people are assholes.

Some guy on the form had his 8 hit, and someone left a note..Thats just hmmm AMAZING. Wish more people took responsibility for their actions.

Have a good day. and She will be better than new soon.

No place like Texas to know about Outlaw Justice :)

But ya, I wouldn't do that now at my old age.. I'd just pay another 17 year old kid to do it since he wont get jail time for it.

You take up two spots every time you park? I would say your probability for getting keyed goes up 10 fold if you are always doing that.

Yeah I caught an ex-friend once just about to key my old car (85 GSL-SE). I ended up allegedly breaking 7 bones in his face. God did he look bad for weeks...

But that was back in grad school when I was 26 or so.. since then I've matured a bit... awe hell, I'd do it again today at 40 years old :D

Vandals are creeps and jerks, often bigots, too. I do enjoy the street justice stories. I'm a peaceful kind of guy, too, but I have no sympathy for the pond scum who vandalize and terrorize. I hope they get street justice tenfold. Hope it repairs OK for you!

Damn, same thing happened to me on Monday!!! I was at the Best Buys store in Somerville NJ at noon - in the store for maybe 15 minutes tops. Came out, and had the passenger doors and rear fender keyed. Damn, I'm pissed!

Anyone have any luck buffing theirs out? I'm hoping that's all it will need.

Of course, I still need to do some touchup on the front fender and bumper where by wife backed into it with her SUV. Man, I can't win for losin...

What i am looking for is a lead car cover that tucks under w/ padlocks. You guys know the type of lead aprons you have to wear if u go in2 radiology in a hospital to protect u, that kinda lead cover. It wouldn't b 2 heavy (and no it isn't completely lead) and then u could wrap it under the bumpers and padlock it so it can't b removed w/out a key. Lets c some1 try and key the car through that mwhahahaha :). Whenever I went to a pulic place like Best Buy or Dennys (but not work cause we have our own lot and nobody at my work is a h8er, the audi TT and several other roadsters have done fine) I would go 2 the effort to put that cover on, really.
