View Full Version : removing horn in air box mikes-rx8 10-09-2009, 03:21 PM I removed both of the side walls in the stock air box and the screens should i take out the horn also....thanks,,, jessedrifter 10-09-2009, 03:23 PM i say leave the horn. i think renesis said that it straightens air flow. so smoother idle. RIWWP 10-09-2009, 03:24 PM Horn? Not sure what you are referring to. I'd recommend putting the screens back in though. They smooth out the airflow quite a bit, and can cause MAF reading problems, and you could easily lose more than you are hoping to gain. StormyWankel 10-09-2009, 03:24 PM My airbox never had a horn...could explain my rough idle...shucks... mikes-rx8 10-09-2009, 03:27 PM Horn? Not sure what you are referring to. I put one of the screens back in..but when i had both of them out the car seemed to accelerate alot better and i think it was smoother. 9krpmrx8 10-09-2009, 04:05 PM My airbox never had a horn...could explain my rough idle...shucks...
