Can you get the Euro rear lip spoiler? I could not find a picture, but on the MazdaUK website it says: "To Improve Fuel Economy all European Mazda RX-8 models will be fitted with a small Boot Lip Spoiler. This is not an option." There are quite a few forum members that are interested in this item. Thanks.

I'm in for a yellow one. I even looked for one (Knightsbridge Mazda) while in London over Christmas holiday, and they couldn't (wouldn't?) order them yet.

The rear lip adds an understated hint of class. People that are seeking attention won't like it.

They must be available somewhere because I saw a red 8 today with just the lip spoiler.

Ned, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to track down the owner of that red 8 and find out where they got their lip spoiler!

MazdaUSA, you can make this a lot easier on us! Marshall, let us know if you've made any headway.

Until we can find a supplier, here's the best plan I can think of...

There are folks in the UK who want to get rid of their standard lip spoiler so that they can add a big wing without leaving any holes to fill.

(Check out this thread: http://rx8ownersclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=760&highlight=spoiler)

There may even be some owners interested in a clean look with no spoiler at all.

Maybe we colonials can set up some sort of trunk/boot exchange with these blokes across the pond. Bloody good win/win if you ask me, especially if the only cost will be shipping.

Picture tpryor on his next UK visit with his luggage checked to Heathrow: One RX-8 trunk lid, yellow. And then him going around trying to peddle it around UK Mazda dealerships and owners throughout his vacation.

I've done some follow-up myself, I've inquired direct with a dealer in the UK as well as having an aquaintance who lives there inquire also ask and basically got the same price. You will not believe it.. what total crap for such a small piece! The prices ranged from £479 to £551 sterling, yeah that's over $1,000 US dollars.. WTF!!

If you can come up with wayyyy better I think some here would buy, but not at the price above.

oh jeez. 1K?! Wow.

Do you have to drill the trunk or is it just stick on?

At 1K you could in fact go to someone and get it manufactured much cheaper.

Yes, you will need to drill 4-5 holes and it also comes with adhesive sticky stuff.

I'd be the first to buy for $150-200, but I don't see anybody selling... :)

The Mazdaspeed spoiler is only $840 which includes the trunk lip piece, how can just the lip be $800.

I am in with the rest i the piece was less than $200.

I agree. $150 - 200 and I'm in. I may not challenge him on picture taking (although I have the same camera...)but I would challenge BrotherVoodoo to see who can order first. :)

Did anyone find a source for these? Since it looks like the topic died in 2004, I'm guessing no; but I'm still wading through search results.

Yeah, good luck with that, I can't seem to get them to respond to anything. Made multiple order requests, sent numerous emails and nothing, nada. What a shame, I bought a bunch of stuff from them in the past.

Im not quite sure Jeff, Scott has a EVO-R CF lip spoiler for his trunk, but I dont think it would cover up the holes :( sorry man, and damn dont we have the same ideas just different colors heh... Ive been looking at the EVO-R CF lip spoiler but instead went with the hood... The spoiler was next on my list, its a good buy and is attached by 3M double sided tape...

Lol im looking for cf accents to add to the car and would love to get rid of the stock spoiler and replace it with this lip but not unless it covers up the holes...

Yeah man I dont believe it covers up the hood as it sticks to the end of your bumper with tape... Then again IDK where the holes exactly are but there are 2 on each side correct?

Yea, im pretty sure the only one that might cover them up is the ings+1 spoiler and that is a little too much for me.

yeah , the rear lip spoiler will definitely not cover up the oem holes.

a local member (the pics above) just recently got the mazda lip from mazdaparts.com I believe..
