early fuel cut off issue

I just bought a 04 rx8 and it wont accelerate past about 7700 rpms in any gear. The are no codes being set off. all seems normal except for that one issue. Any ideas or similar experiences? Please help if you can. Thanks

Clogged cat?
Possibly the usual coils, plug wires, and/or plugs.
How many miles on your car?

You'll have to swap out the entire fuel pump, they run about $150 new.

did you take the car for a test drive?

was the car bought from a dealer or a private sale?

is it the six speed version?

how long have you owned the car and have these symptoms allways been present?
