I'm not referring to the shiny intake, it's the part below the shock brace, looks suspicious to me.

It was mentioned and already known some time ago that Blitz is developing a supercharger setup for the RX8. I think yes, that is a supercharger. Looks like a roots stye blower to me. I am glad to see such excellent support for the RX8 in Japan.
