i took my car in yesterday becuase i kept running low on the coolant level, yesterday they told me they would just change the spark plugs and i would have it today, well today they called me back and they said they have to change out the ENGINE because mazda doesnt want them opening it up since its to new! he said something about the coolant leaking onto the spark plugs or something. the engine only had around 990 miles on it, i was about to hit 1000 :(.on the bright side i will have a brand new engine...

Maybe you'll get better gas mileage with the new one. Bummer about not having the car for 2 weeks.

 I'd say it's almost guaranteed that you'll get better mileage with the new engine.

While you're waiting, you can read up on the 'RX-8 in snow' and 'winter tire' threads, and order your winter tires so that when your car is fixed, you'll be able to move it! :D

Gord.. i know about your infamous snow tire threads ive read them all but i had to see for myself what happens when you drive with the stock tires on ice.it wasnt pretty and mazda roadside assistance didnt really help.i decided i just wont drive the 8 in the snow and since it only snows a few times a year i probably wont be getting new tires for now.
