CA Racing stripes on RX-8?

What do you guys think about putting some black racing stripes on a silver RX-8 along with the black front mask and maybe some black rims later on?

I'm kinda skeptical about the racing stripes, but I think the front mask coupled with some black rims would look real good. What's your opinion?

search around for other racing stripe posts and/or photoshop one to see how you like it and then man up and make up your own mind.

MS Paint or PS them on and see what you think.

I dont think it would look bad, but I also dont think I would do it to my car...

You can also try sticky shelf liner. Cut it into strips and see how that looks on the car. It's a easy way to temporarily see how vinyl or paint graphics will look on the car.
Also try the stripes offset to the left or right side rather than just straight up the center.

Do NOT do this... If you want to mock it up, use masking tape, which is designed to be able to pull off without doing any damage. Shelf liner is designed to stick permanently and will leave behind a mess...

Depending on the authenticity of the stripes it would be original...

Original racing stripes were not straight down the center...

i like the side stripes to be lower by the door crease. in this example, i think the side stripes may sit a bit high...

i have pinstripes on my car. size, style and location commonly practiced on late 80s
early 90s sports cars. i used the upper door crease following the door handle as my guide line... purposely using the cars natural lines. look closely in my sig

i have to agree on part to others in this. personally a huge line down the center of the car will just throw off the rotary accent thats on the hood. it may look good on a rather flat oval car such as shelby cobra maybe even a miata... but not here. thats my reason, sorry.

try stripes on the side, serioiusly...

cheers

RioXavier, just because that guy screwed up his RX8 doesn't mean you will.
I like the idea of black stripe/stripes on silver with black rims... sounds awesome.
I'm personally not a fan of the classic 2 racing stripes down the middle...
There are a million different types of stripes to get - do something different from the rest.

I'm gonna try the side stripes and the black rims, I don't want my RX-8 looking like a shitty mustang.
