View Full Version : Mazda USA to Drop B Series Pick-Ups After 40 years ASH8 09-16-2009, 04:40 PM http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2009/09/mazda-drops-b-series-pickup-from-us-lineup.html Jedi54 09-16-2009, 04:56 PM :sadwavey: I had a 1986 Mazda B2000, single cab, power nothing. I loved that truck m477 09-16-2009, 05:28 PM Makes sense to me. I can't remember the last time I even saw a B-series on a Mazda lot. So unless they plan to bring back the REPU I don't see the need for Mazda to sell a pickup. Mazmart 09-16-2009, 05:29 PM It couldn't be gone soon enough for me. I hated the Ford/Mazda trucks for the US (94-97). They sucked to work on, were tough to get on the lift. They were hard to disassemble (Probably easy to assemble :)) Everything for them was difficult; they would have 40 to 60 versions of one wiring harness in one year and the notes would always say to look at them to identify, same for 02 sensors. You have to take the part off before you could order your new part. They were selling like 80 trucks a month at 700 dealers? Good riddance American B series. Paul. The current Ford Ranger is a dinosaur and in need of extinction. ASH8 09-17-2009, 04:08 PM Mazda Australia sells about 600 a month...more than the US for a change!...we get the one made in Thailand, you? B series has been here since it's inception in 1968-69 Chronisseur 09-21-2009, 02:03 PM Interesting. I didn't know they offered the rotary in the B-series for a while. I didn't even know that Mazda was still making pickup trucks. R.I.P Mazmart 09-21-2009, 06:00 PM Interesting. I didn't know they offered the rotary in the B-series for a while. I didn't even know that Mazda was still making pickup trucks. R.I.P Actually the rotary was not offered in the B series but rather in the REPU. I'm not sure how many countries got this little truck. It stands for Rotary Engine Pick Up and had ROTARY POWER written on the tailgate. Paul. B series has been here since it's inception in 1968-69 We never got the Thai built truck. I kind of like the newest version (BT50) but all we got was a rebadged US Ford Ranger. Paul. Jedi54 09-21-2009, 06:05 PM Paul, I tried calling you earlier but I forgot you were 3 hours ahead. :banghead: talk to you maņana 77mjd 09-21-2009, 08:40 PM Makes sense to me. Thats the first thing I thought of...I've never seen one on a dealer lot. In my head, Ive questioned for a long time if they actually still made this truck. Jethro Tull 09-22-2009, 02:03 PM Good riddance. The current Ford Ranger is a dinosaur and in need of extinction. Ha! I had one until a few years ago, and drove it to death...one down... kersh4w 09-22-2009, 03:20 PM We never got the Thai built truck.
