Has anyone tried the magnetic fuel savers or the vortex booster-like the tornado? I was going to try one or the other- or a combination of both. Anyone have positive/negative results?
Thankx:confused:

Don't listen to these n00bs. I'm using both the Vornado and the fuel line magnet and I'm getting over 35mpg!

I, too, got them off of ebay. I'm also running them with a twin turbo setup that I got off of the 93-95 RX-7's. They're a direct swap, it's the only way to get 400whp for less than 100 bucks.

Yeah, don't worry about Renesis..

Anyways, they're useless. If you want better MPG get a Cobb AP tune to lean it out, and shift at 3500RPM 24/7.. Probably still won't break the 25MPG barrier, though.

Engine swap will increase mileage too.

Rotary engines aren't known to be very fuel efficient, but they're efficient at making power ;)

I guess you never heard the saying, "Redline a day keeps the carbon away"
And this isn't a sarcastic joke either ;)

well people say drive it hard but I hear different stories and sometimes it is hard to tell who to believe

Jon316G
09-15-2009, 08:53 PM
LOL.. I understand that!
You want to drive it hard every now and then.
Basically, don't keep the RPMs limited to the lower band ALL the time.
Take her up top every once in awhile.

lynnjennifer86

so take it up to 8-9000 which gear is safe I don't want to mess up my car- I was told that that is good to do

Jon316G
09-15-2009, 09:00 PM
Any gear is safe (except the speed you'll be going at that RPM in 5th or 6th) ;)
Don't worry about taking it to redline... she likes it!
I usually redline in 1st and 2nd while accelerating from a stop and then shift around 4k rpm for the other gears.
To each their own.

I have something like it...doesn't work jack. I have one that u just plug into the Cigarette lighter and its suppose to save u tons of gas. So far all it is is a conversation piece. Try Solar panels...maybe a better bet :Eyecrazy:

Something to keep in mind about things like this is it the item cost $19.95 or less why didn't Mazda put them on the car to begin with? Mazda would love for the 8 to get 30 mpg. It's not like a magnet or thin aluminum is something special. As for the vortex scam you just need to look under your hood and ask what happens to that 'tornado' when the intake splits into 3 parts?
The is no magic MPG tool out there, the only thing to do is spend as much time in 6th gear as possible = no fun.

ill give renesis 200 for your fuel management.

the last i've heard of renesis SE3P's fuel management is a camry motor,in Well... a toyota camry.

this may be a rumor. not too sure... may need john to clarify that.

either Way, he's got a secret no-one here knoWs. like a "tWin" turbo from an FD... Which the general public got screWed having only the sequential version, but only he can get his hands on the top secret "tWin" thru mazda.

he's got connections:scratchhe
