My friends cat (which I would love to kill) used my BRAND NEW leather club chair for a scratching post. I don't know what to do about getting it repaired. Is it even possible? Anyone ever use that leather magic stuff? I am very skeptical about these type of repair products. Luckily the scratches are not on the seat or an area that takes stress. Damn I am pissed.
Anyone with similar experiences? Ideas on how to repair?
Thanks in advance...

In college, I had a cat that scratched up my leather chair, so I got it declawed. Damned if it didn't shred my waterbed's leather side rail pads with it's teeth! Much worse than claw damage. Smart cat. Just keep 'em outside if you can, or maybe train them with a water pistol if you can't. That is fun too.

Tan the cat's hide and use the resulting leather to patch up the chair.

Invest in a SCRATCHING POST!
My cats (for ten years) never have scratched up anything. The day I brought home the post they started scritching on it as soon as it hit the floor. If they have an alternative to the furniture then they will stop!

Suddenly say and act as if you are allergic and can't have cat's in the house!!! Bye bye kitty!
If you wanna be humane about the whole thing...take Rotary Nuts advise...I have 3 cats (or my wife does) I can't stand cats for this very reason but being the animal lover I am I would never "throw them outside", "tan their hide", or "give them away"... if you take on the responsiblilty of owning an animal or perhaps in your case sharing your habitat with them be prepared, but give them the benefit of the doubt. Sure the cat may have dug it's claws into your chair but think on it's level for a sec...he did what comes natural for him...
it all comes around to the learning and thought (cause and effect) processing of the mind....if your parents didn't teach you to piss in the toilet and let you go wherever you wanted i'm sure your friend would be really upset if you pissed on his chair....

Idea on what to do about the cat - contact the guy who owns this plate frame:

First of all it's not your cat. It's you Friends... So it's your friends responsibility. Make him pay for the repairs & make him train the cat!

Also. Remember that humans may own dogs but it is the car that owns the human. Where as dogs are always eager to please you, the cat will force you to modifiy your behavior to suit their needs.
When a cat rubs your leg or what ever with the side of its cute little kitty face it is marking you. This means you are his/hers!
Get you cats spayed/neutered. This will stop alot of your cats unwanted behavior like spraying and going into heat. They will be more loving and docile and curbs to some degree the urge to roam the neigborhood and get into trouble.
And for god sakes DO NOT get you cat declawed. You are removing the cats only line of defence and is considered inhumane by many. There will come a time that the cat will need to defend itself .

Yeah, declawing a cat isn't cool, I was young and stupid when I did that, and as I reported, it didn't help. It was kind of fun to mess with it afterwards though, and rub it's little nubs. :D
