Exclamation dead greddy turbo

first off this jeffrx.lol i lost my password and get my email.i installed my turbo yesterday and had no issues til tonight.i was going 3rd gear wot shifted at 7500 rpm went into 4th and the wide open throttle and around 7500 the car stopped making boost an almost felt like the fuel cut off then i let off.i hit gas again and the car makes some noise and dies off the side of the road.there was no loud noise or smoke when this happened.the car will turn over but wont start.i had to get a tow home.is it possible i fouled a plug? i checked the fuel pump fuse and its fine.im just hoping its not catastrophic.

hmmm - sounds terminal .
take the trailing spark plug out of one rotor and turn it over - listen to see if pulses sound even should get 3 strong pulses . Then do same with other rotor .

what are you tuning it with ?

i just used the greddy emanage and no additional tuning.i changed out all 4 plugs and it still wont start.i called greddy today and they say that its probably a blown apex seal .im going to get a compression test on it tomorrow and hope for the best

you don't need a compression test - just do what I said above . Very easy to tell if apex has gone you will hear one good solid puff followed by two wheezy puffs .

So everyone's clear. Did you just install the greddy emanage unit and not create a base spark and fuel map for the car at all? Have you or the installer created any kind of basemap for the car?

i was going to have the tune done this weekend i didnt think the seal would go that quickly.i pulled 1 trailing plug and all 3 pulses sounded identical.i had a problem with my gauge though so i will retry the comp test tomorrow. im hoping for the best.could it be a vacuum hose maybe? possibly a fuel issue? i gotta get an obd 2 scanner

I can't figure out what made you think it was a good idea to go into boost before tuning.

Happy rebuilding!

Sucks man, Sounds like your luck ran out and ran just a little to lean up top and popped a blood vessel . Take out the front housing trailing plug and listen and then put it back in and also do the rear rotor housing plug.
Let me know if you decide to sell the kit for the rebuild

i have a buddy at mazda that knows my situation and is going to warranfy the thing.i gotta take the turbo off and its a done deal.that means the kit will not be up for sale.lol.next time ill get the tuning done asap. i trusted greddys tune and didnt do enough research on my own.it was a bad move by me.hind sight is always 20/20 and i feel pretty crappy.worst case scenario now is pulling the turbo off and getting a brand new renises to try again but this time no boost untill tune.lol.one other thing and i dought it has anything to do with it but my pre cat 02 sensor got trsahed removing it from the the factory manifold.my cel is on anyway so i just plugged the hole and left the harness hang. probably has nothing to do with it huh? it seemed when it died that the fuel and boost just stopped.i heard no loud noises.it just died

WTF? The more you tell us the more clear it is you have know idea what you're doing and you really need to read up on the car and what it takes to put a turbo on it. this is not a small block V-8 with a carburetor. dude how should your car be expected to run in closed loop mode without feedback from the O2 sensor? you do know it takes feedback from the WBO2 sensor to determine short term fuel trims in closed loop don't you.

Also: Don't trust anyone's tune with a turbo. You need to have the right datalogging and gauges so you KNOW what is going on with your car while it is getting tuned.
