Looks to me like you're really only interested in how tall the average MALE RX-8 driver is. From what I've seen, most of the women here are pretty petite -- well below your 5'9" minimum.

And I'm 5'0- maybe we don't count in this poll? Btw, the average guy is 5'10, so you would have been better off with a range +/-3 inches of that, rather than mostly above 6ft. And I'd think pretty much anyone above 6'1 or so is going to have a hard time in this car.

Yeah, delete this thread and start again. Your single biggest response right now is below 5'9", a clue you didn't run it down far enough. Besides, it's pretty well documented that people over 6'1" or so are hesitant to get this car. Many have said headroom was the one reason they couldn't buy the '8. BTW, voon, how tall are you? My guess is you're up around 6-foot or so.

The 1st think I did was sit in the car to see if I fit, I'm split pretty evenly 50/50 with my waist being the middle. I had/have no problems getting around or driving an 8. I did however have problems with the S2000, my friend's miata, my friends M series BMW Roadster, my sister's old Escort, and a few others, the S2000 was the only one I attempted to drive recently, as it was an option when I was just checking to see if there was anything else out there better than the 8 in my price range. I fit fine. I have a picture in the post your photo spot, you can see how small my Les Paul looks in my hands.

I'm 4'9" with 7" high heels on.

I'm 6' 4", 34" leg and the RX-8 fits fine. I don't have to slide the driver's seat all the way back but nobody is going to be able to sit behind me. I have the GT package (so it has a sunroof) and even with this I have head clearance. I like my seat back reclined, so that helps with head clearance. The driving position is the best of any car I've owned. I even fit my wife's '96 M-edition Miata but I have to get the seat fore-aft position and angle just right (there's one and only one combo that works) but it's worth it ;)

I wish the RX-8 had multi-driver seat position memory. I hate having to adjust my seat after my wife has been driving - and boy she loves to drive my car she calls it a "grown up Miata"

I used to covet memory for seat and mirrors, then my wife got it on her 323. I don't like it. Maybe it's just me and maybe it's the car, but everytime I use memory to reposition everything, it doesn't seem quite right and I spend time tweaking all the settings. Very annoying and virtually useless. At least with the '8, the seat controls are so damn quick that it gets into position almost instantly. I'd say the seat moves twice as fast as the 323's.

Almost forgot, rex, there's another solution. DOn't let the wife drive the '8! ;-)

Yeah 5' 4" baby, so you know that when I go camping with the RX-8, I use the trunk as my sleeping area. :D

BTW, I'm 6'0, but my hair is easily 6'1" -- and it rubs. I sit all the way back and slightly reclined. No way could I ever wear a helmet, so I suppose my time at the track is going to suffer. I know at least one 8 owner that bought the base package to allow room for his helmet. This time of year though, there's no way I'd want to give up my heated seat just to give my hair a bit more room. I find I'd rather drive than put on a sweater...

I'm 5' 10". I have never had any height problems with any cars.

I guess being average has its advantages. Almost everything is made for my height.:) (Although, being the skinny bastard that I am, my pants waist is a 31" and it’s a pain in the ass to find, so most the time I end up wearing pants that are too big).

I've felt cramped sitting in an SLK, 300Z, S2000 w/Roof Up, and 350Z. Maybe because there's no back seat (or back space).

Yes, I am aware the size ranges do not include most women. But the height range I gave is the height range I am interested in.

Many 6'0ish people have posted in some threads, that they might hit the cars ceiling. I am 6' 2" and wondered how many people my size, above, or slightly below, drive this car.

It's not in any way meant sexist or spaced to get a good overview over everybody's height, so I hope the women in this forum will forgive me :) You are in the wonderful situation to fit this car anyway in most cases. The fact, that there's 6' 4" people kind of takes the worry out of me. I know I have to drive it myself first, but it's good to know :)
