I'm running my car at the drag strip tonight (75-80 Dragway in Monrovia, MD, in case anyone else is going to be out there), just curious how much gas you all have in the tank when you race.

Half a tank when I leave the house, almost a 1/4 when I get to the track, fill 'er up on the way home (this was in my mustang though...haven't dragged my 8)

Yeah, there are fuel pump issues when you run your pump low. The extra weight you would save isnt worth possible damage. I would still say Half... but Kersh has way more knowledge on the subject than I

its not about the fuel pump issues. that really only comes into play during turns.

this about keeping extra weight on rear tires to reduce tire hop, you'll get a smoother launch.

i run quicker with a full tank. all my 14.4 runs are done with a full tank.

if i had a drag slicks, i'd do about 1/8 of tank. i've run it there before, no problems. except off the line.
