Noise while Braking
Noise while Braking
I have a tick, tick, tick from the right front wheel area when braking. I haven't pulled the wheel off yet, but does anyone have any idea what it could be? Caliper?
Thanks for the help,
Chris

Ive heard this noise twice in my life, once with my last car and once with my 8. With my 8, there was a rather large rock wedged in the tread of the front driver's side tire. In my last car, it was a nail...
Thanks for the suggestions guys.
There's no vibration in steering or car. It's an '05 so I don't think the tsb applies. It's interesting that it calls for a higher lug nut torque, though. Is everyone putting on their wheels with 108 ft/lbs?
Anyway, I hear the noise only when braking, straight or in a turn, and only seem to notice it at slow speed with the window down.
I think I'm just going to have to pull that wheel.....

Swoope,
I used to read your posts a few years back before I got involved in my vette restoration...
The VIN numbers in the tsb do not match up with mine and I do not have the "anti-corrosion treatment (black caoating)" on my wheels. I'll definitely clean the entire area with brake cleaner and re- torque to 108lbs.
Thanks for the help,
Chris
