Wondering if this happen to any one else, i have a 2005 6spd manual with about 40k on the odo. the AC has never been super cold but cold enough for Cali summers. just recently i notice that the drivers side vents 1 and 2 have been blowing warm air while the pass side 3 and 4 blow cold air with the ac on. i did the ac reset and it blows colder air now but still the same story on the drivers side.

I checked the freon level and all is good there and plenty of it. it was thought maybe a blockage of some sort, ( i read that rodents tend to be the culprit or them making nest as well) so i took everything off and pulled off the center vents, but nothing.
I checked the blower and changed out the cabin filters and cleaned them as well. still no change.


i took pics below. here is the weird part, i could feel literally warm air coming from the left side when i stick my hand in the left vent. and chilly air when i do the same with the right.

i tested the temp by moving the dial from cold to hot and everything works fine, and i also did the knob check and it moves from 0 to 16 smoothly with no skips in between

i did notice this on the condenser tho. would that explain the extremes in temp from left to right? im stumped so any help is appreciated.

I have this same issue.. it's summer now in Kansas (Finally, after like 2 extra months of snow), and now's the time for the AC. On my side (Driver side), the AC blows out really hot air.. on the passenger side, it's super cold. idk what the deal is, and this is the only thread i can find on the issue. it's really annoying, lol.

Also, sometimes my temperature control knob seems to be messed up (hot when it's on cold, cold when it's on hot). idk if that's related or not.

Try this it mite work, Im going to try it tomorrow.

I got this fixed!
It turned out to be the refrigerant. When i was filling it the first time, i didn't use the ambient temperature.. = low level of refrigerant

I added it to it's proper level, and they're both ice cold now! check yours man

hey guys sorry for the long delay on this, but yeah Horatio was right, it looks like the gauge i was using in the first test was mis-reading my 134a level. it was saying it was full but in reality it was really low.
went to autozone got a can with a better gauge on it, ( did cost a litter bit more) but it read my level as low, i filled it to 45 which is the end of the blue level on the gauge and frosty air was the result. :) so yeah word to the wise, use a decent gauge and test your level first.
