Was looking for some brake shims to silence my Hawk HP+ and came across http://tispeed.com. The idea is that these are supposed to dissipate heat better than stock shims. If anyone is interested it turns out this company is about 6 miles from my house and I have an extra set of pads I can drop off.

I got in touch with them yesterday and here's the deal... Yes than can make them. Prices run about $50-60 for a front set and it'll take 4-6 weeks to get them made. Yes they can do a group buy so the more interest the better.

I don't know if these are snake oil or not. Comments and speculation are welcome.

you would not believe what i am running on the street quiet with just brake grease and leftover stock shims..

not that i want to keep this on the street, but stuff happens..

The so called shims that are titanium are probably what we call brake pad "backing plates" used for heat reduction and not as shims to quiet any noise. We used these for road racing the StealthR/T TT - Mitsu 3000GT VR4s and the difference was quite good with reducing heat into the brake fluid via the contact between the pad and the caliper pistons. These are great for road racing and not needed for the street.
