I just came back from the dealer...I traded in my RX8 04 automatic for a...2009 rx8 R3. I'm so excited! I'm still getting used to the standard transmission, but I think I'll be fine...Any advices?

Anyway, I'm from Ottawa! I've been driving a rx8 since last year. I had some problems with the other one (wasn't able to get heat all the time, whole car was shaking when at a red light, etc) *knock on wood* so hope this one is going to be fine! Plus, I recently hit a deer, but fortunately there was only a big bump on the driver side and the headlight was cracked in the inside (but still worked). So anyway, I just got bored of it (A/T 4 SPD :P ) and decided to change! At the beginning I wanted to get the 2009 GT automatic, cause it had at least 6 SPD and a sunroof, but the salesman brought me to do a test drive. And I just falled in love! :)

If u got the UK model with the headlight washers then why dont you have the rear rotary bottom light like this one? And I know its the UK model because Red,Blue,Black are the only colors in the US. So.... U should look into it.... As far As I know your rear bumper loooks the same as mine....

Euro/JDM Spec- Right hand drive/ White w/ rear bottom rotary light
Canada- (this is where I WTF...) Yours is Left hand drive (like US), white (like Euro/JDM), no rear rotary light (like US), personally... U got a weird one.. :dunno:? No bashing just confused.... Canada having white R3's is good news though.... Easier to import into the U.S. and no Conversion for LEft hand drive, no boat to ship it here.. :), maybe next year it will be available in the U.S.

I have no clue how come we can have white R3's in canada; but this one was calling my name in the showroom! Had to bring her back home!

For the price, it wasn't 48 grand at all...the MSRP here for the R3 is like 42...and i got it for like 34...without even the trade-in! I'm pretty sure they were not telling me the real numbers here...but they said they did like 400$ commission on that car!

For those asking about the rear rotary shaped light, it's a rear foglight. It's required in Europe, optional in most other countries, not available in the US because stupid jack-asses here would drive around with it on all the time. Same reason our foglights have those little metal caps in them that block half the light output.
