I see that Rotary Nut has a new flooding poll going. I'd like to come at this from a different angle and try to come up with some metrics on when you are at risk of flooding. The questions I'm asking here I think are the important parameters, but I'll be happy to modify this if somebody thinks I've missed something.
If you believe you flooded your car, please provided these details as best you can remember or guess for each incident:
- How cold was it where you parked your car before you started it?
- How long did you run your car before you shut it down or stalled it?
- How long a wait did you have before you tried to restart your car?
- If that wait was significant, how cold was it in the new location (if different from your starting point)?
- Did you try the emergency start procedure and did it work?
Thanks ahead for responding. I think we can collect some good, useful data here.
