View Full Version : Does anyone else have this problem?
SikRedRX-8 01-06-2004, 08:43 AM Everytime I come to this forum (and only this one) my explorer gets all jacked up and I have to log off and log back on to get it working again. It makes it so no pictures can be seen and it effects every page I go to after I come here. It is getting so damn annoying. And it only happens when I come here. I can be on the internet all day and have 0 issues, once I come here it screws up. Any suggestions or help would be nice. (not very computer literate)

RX-jimenez 01-06-2004, 09:35 AM i was wondering about that!!!! i happend to me to i just can't figure out what it was.......????
Texas 8 01-06-2004, 09:40 AM it's just your computers way of saying you are spending way too much time on rx-8club.com :- ) Of course, I don't need explorer to tell me that. I rely on my wife!
8_wannabe 01-06-2004, 10:25 AM It happened to me a lot, but not recently like in the last coupla weeks.
eccles 01-06-2004, 10:29 AM Yes, many folks have reported this behaviour, but as yet nobody has been able to pinpoint the cause. It only affects Internet Explorer, but it doesn't affect everyone using IE. I experience it on my Win98 laptop, but not on my XP or Win2k desktop machines.
The only suggestions at this time are either to use a different browser, or to close all your IE windows (you don't need to actually log off or shut down your PC) when it happens.
Hopefully this might be alleviated when the new-look forum arrives soon.
SikRedRX-8 01-06-2004, 10:38 AM I do need to log off, cause if I don't when I close it and open it back up I still can't get any pictures to load. I am using XP and I have deleted my cookies and temp. files. But still hasn't helped any. It happens to me everyday.
Positron 01-06-2004, 10:42 AM Check your cookie settings. Make sure you are allowing cookies for this site. I haven't seen the problem myself even though I have used different browsers. What version of IE are you using? Make sure it is the latest one. Good luck.

I do need to log off, cause if I don't when I close it and open it back up I still can't get any pictures to load. But are you closing every IE window, or only the one you were using for the forum? If you close every IE window (no instances of iexplore.exe remaining in Task Manager's Processes list) you shouldn't need to log off. Or perhaps you've discovered another variant of this problem, which is not impossible. :)
SikRedRX-8 01-06-2004, 11:26 AM I am using the latest update. I am using cookies. Also I am closing every explorer window. I thought it was just a problem I has having but it effects the computer at work and at friends houses when I go there. So that is why I posted. Is there anything else I am doing wrong?

red_rx8_red_int 01-06-2004, 12:16 PM You can also try Netscape, I have that problem a lot with ie and never with netscape.
Outlaws eXtreme 01-06-2004, 12:44 PM Use Mozilla, works great, fast, and you can set your own cookie for the pages you want to allow access to.

Will this work?
murln 01-06-2004, 02:37 PM <soapboxmode>i've been playing with Lindows a bit recently. not sure what browser it has builtin, but EVERY site i went to came up faster and without errors than when using IE. thank you michael robertson for being the david to bill's goliath. </soapboxmode> i've had the prob you describe, but hadn't connected it to this forum. just figured it was another lovely microsoft "feature". i'll pay better attention and see if any other problems coincide with this.

SikRedRX-8 01-06-2004, 11:10 PM It isn't so much logging on and off, it is just reading threads. Like it workd fine for the first say 3 threads then it just screws up.
