View Full Version : Student designed Mazda Coupe
jiggawha1 08-13-2009, 01:47 PM Looks ok except for the 4-door civic looking rear end. The tail lights almost look modeled after the FD though

dondo 08-13-2009, 02:08 PM i think it looks pretty good..
Transam kid 01 08-13-2009, 02:11 PM Front and rear look terrible. Overall a good starting point, but it looks like the person took parts of many other designs/concepts and threw them all together...AKA, no real flow to the design, but a good starting point.
bulletproof21 08-13-2009, 02:54 PM you know, that would make a good 2-door 6 or mx-6.
Grungepup 08-13-2009, 04:45 PM ehhhhhhhh
I like it. Give it a healthy motor, RWD, and price/performance to fight the Genesis coupe.
rodjonathan 08-13-2009, 05:16 PM i like it its uniaue the rear is a little bland to say the least but not half bad for sure
zoom44 08-13-2009, 06:07 PM the front

Krazed_Rx8 08-13-2009, 06:11 PM Not bad!
Vlaze 08-13-2009, 06:18 PM Looks like the same typical futuristic concepts thrown around from many other auto makers. There isn't anything in there that seems to be distinctive to set it outside the box of norm as it's own creation.
I'd of left that on papers as a concept and kept working on the design. The front end is. .... yea...not inspiring in a sporty term IMO.
WOW AND DOUBLE WOW..... I LOVE IT....Where do I sign....
It could be a bit lower in the rear and change the rims a tad bit. I dig it, it still needs some work
Rotr8 08-13-2009, 09:35 PM It was actually one of the weakest designs from that class,,, just look at the mirrors nough said,,,
Anyway here are some of the nicer ones, if people want to stay up to date about concept cars and Automotive Design heres where I get all my info and ideas,,, CAR BODY DESIGN

77mjd 08-22-2009, 03:39 PM It still angers me that kabura never came out.
Not really feeling it. It looks like a mishmash of current design fads, except for the rear which is just awkward. That black Nissan thing looks cool though.

Yeah, they really should have built that car. I know I'd have bought one.
Spin9k 08-23-2009, 05:59 AM I think we need some new (innovative) students. That Mazda thing is wrong on so many levels..it doesn't flow front to rear; the front is plain and weird at the same time and I suppose there are headlights somewhere in there(?); the fender/door/pillar meeting is awkward and distracting; the hood crease there is out of place; no I don't want never-ending glass over my head; the side glass/roofline is perhaps the only sleek looking styling element, borrowing from a Passat or Mazda 3 sedan.
Overall I give it a "C-", bland and no-name look, no noticeable Mazda styling traits, doesn't evoke any (good) 'wow' feeling at all. On a positive note, it would fit into the Ford lineup of industrial design cars well.
foo77 08-23-2009, 07:43 AM ^ +1 with Kabura, any news about it or just another concept? :scratchhe as for the new design, not feelin at all.. far away than Mazda design..
mscamp02 08-23-2009, 08:06 AM maybe not the best design but its not bad
User24 08-23-2009, 10:23 AM They are just right, for toyota or hundai.
Rotr8 08-23-2009, 11:20 AM I dont know the Kabura is so ten years ago,, Mazda design laguage has made leaps and bound since the Kabura the best thing Mazda could do is keep going with what they have now,,, and evolve the Furai into thier next flagship sportscar, its all already there all they need to do is swap out the Rene3rotor for a 16X and put some blinks on it and call it a day,,,
tekk220 08-27-2009, 07:39 PM looks very similar to the new honda concept
