for people who already own rx8, what would you be driving now if rx8 did not exist? your reasons will be appreciated.:)

Before I saw the rx-8, I was planning to get the new 2005 Mustang, but when I first saw + test drive the rx-8 that was the car for me... LOVE IT!

Well I like Z4 too but the question is really I can afford it at the same time.

So I think I will go for Nissan 350Z or Alfa 147 GTA. If I am allowed to have a 2 seater then S2000 for sure

I would have probably bought a BMW 325i. I was looking hard at the BMW until I took my Miata in for an oil change and happened to see the 8. Drove the automatic, not impressed, then read some more about the 6 manual, and was sold after the test drive! Bimmer not the same as an 8 (not even close!). Glad for the 8!

The cars I was seriously considering (before I discovered the RX-8 and forgot all about them ;) ) were a 2003 Mini Cooper S and a 2000-02 BMW Z3 Coupe or M Coupe.

2004 Accord or similar "sensible" car. Nothing else evoked my emotions like the '8. Can't get away with a 2-seater as I still have kids at home.

I would have found another 73 RX-3. But this time, instead of a slightly hopped up 12A, I'd have put a seriously tweeked 13B in it.
If I couldn't find an RX-3? I guess I would settle for a Plymouth Duster :)

A G35 Coupe, or a 94 RX-7, or a 97 Supra TT. One of those 3. Or I would have saved a lil more and tried to convince the wife to let me buy a used Skyline GT-R R33 for 62k from Motorex.

The FD is the only other car I would have considered.
Given a spectacular, I might have been convinced to buy a G-35, but it would have to have been practically free.;)

I'd have to wait, then rob a bank, and buy the '05 Corvette.

I wouldn't have bought a new car if the 8 didn't exist.

Ditto - if the '8 didn't come along I would just not have a car loan. I didn't need or really even want a new car...

I've been interested in rotaries for quite a few years and the rx8 has been an exciting concept especially since it's the first US rotary since '95. I attended the SevenStock rx-7/rotary gathering in Irvine in '02 ( http://www.sevenstock.org/ )and I was very enthused by the track videos they (didn't) show at the dinner afterwards. I made the mistake of going and having a look at one in person at a dealer after they hit the showrooms in July and I was unable to resist. I ended up getting one someone else had pre-ordered and then cancelled at the end of July without even test driving one. I don't regret the purchase at all - the more I drive it, the more I love this car.

if the rx8 hit the showrooms 1 week later i wud have an EVO VIII.. i had a deposit on a Blue one took that back the minute i saw the RX
