I don't have a rulebook, but what is the minimum weight of the RX8 in the prepared class?

Also, how is that measured? With driver, how much gas, etc etc.

Just curious, I've only done autox for fun, but thinking of doing it where I compete in every event this year.

Not sure which Prepared category the RX-8 would run in, but assuming it's EP, where the other non-turbo RX's run, then it's 0.89lb per cc of displacement = 2329lb (13B is classified as 2616cc).

But do you really mean Prepared (fully-stripped, tube frames, almost anything goes), or are you thinking of Street Prepared (wheels, brakes, swaybars, ECU, etc, but still basically drivable every day)?

Street prepared. I think we are in BS, so it would be BSP.

Can't find any mention of minimum weights in SP - suspect that each vehicle's effective minimum is limited by how much (or little) you can vary the car from stock. Checking with folks "in the know" - I'll get back to you. :)

Nationally, SP cars are not weighed. They are considered legal as long as ONLY authorized modifications are done to the car, and that is why the impound rule exists to allow competitors to look over your car in impound.

This has been used to advantage many times in the past.............

Yep, it can be as light at you like as long as you don't do or remove anything that's not allowed by the SP rules.

Cool, I just read about the lightening of the car in the class and there was a blurb about min weight.

Thanks all!
