I found out that the original buyer paid cash for it and gave it up at 5900 miles...wonder about the reasons. I like the car but would like to add a rear spoiler, what are your experiences with that? And lastly I am afraid of the flooding issue, would it help to warm up the car for 5minutes before driving it?
So what do you think, buy it or not??? Any input is appreciated,

Flooding: don't worry about it. Seriously, it was an issue when the vehicle first came out but Mazda has reflashed the PCM to help with this, there are now updated spark plugs, stronger batteries, and an upgraded starter that should pretty much eliminate flooding. Mine's an '05 and I've never flooded it. ***knocks on wood***

Rear spoiler: there are lots of options for that. There are a few lips poilers but I am partial to the Mazdaspeed Wing. Look for pics of my car and you'll see it.

that's a great looking color. Not sure on the price though as it's been a while since I've purchased mine.

You can add a rear spolier pretty easily if you are handy its just drilling 4 holes and using double stick tape or else the dealership would be happy to do it.

Flooding isn't so much of a problem as it was in 04-05, it floods easier, just make sure that you don't shut it off immediately after starting it. You can rev it to like 4-5K rpms and hold it there for like 10-15 sec if you recently started it. If your going across town or something then its not a problem.

Its a nice car, if you like the feel and look you should get it.

go for it, if you haven't test driven it yet I think you'd be sold right after. Every car has issues to some extent but this is a fun sports car and I think the good outweighs the bad.

Like these guys said before flooding really isn't an issue anymore as long as the updates have been done (ecu flash, plugs, battery, starter etc.), I like the color almost went with that myself, good find.

#1 he paid cash for it. That's a clue. They have money and get tired of posessions easily and must go on to something new.

Those are the best type of cars to buy, someone who got bored and must get something newer.

I was unsure what to think about the paying for the car in cash part. I assumed that it might have been too high maintenance for them or that it gave them a bunch of problems...Do you think the price is right?

22,700 but since it goes through CarMax there is that addtl. 149 charge plus transfer fee of 649 since the car is in MD and I am in FL.....I truly like the color though and I am not too fond of the 2009 model looks, that's why I am considering this one.

BTW, I am using my BF's account this mine was not approved yet

You might be able to swing the new '09 for around that price or a grand or two more.


I mean that car is still new with only 6k miles but the 09's have a "newer" engine so that's something to think about.

Myself, I like the looks of the 04's to 08's better than the 09's but I still think you could snag a new RX-8 for around that price.

I see you don't care for the looks of the 09's either.

Actually I do have one more question, told ya I am a novice....the website states it's a touring model but now I see that only the GT comes with leather seats and seat warmers? What is it, a T or GT???

GT=Grand Touring....comes in leather and other cool acessories...I believe you have the sport model

GT - Grand Touring. There is no T model. Unless you're talking 1940's Ford.
