View Full Version : 1st Titanium grey in Greece (photos incl)
powerhead 01-05-2004, 02:40 PM Well... It was delivered to me 3 weeks ago, and I haven't seen any other in the streets yet ... so... ;)
I finally got the brushed aluminium strakes (exactly like I expected them to be) and I just got over the 1000 km break in period, although I am afraid I was not very easy on the beast... ( I got over the recommended 7000 rpm quite a few times  and I am a bit worried. I just couldnt't take my foot of the damn pedal. Anyway, I won't do any review since you 're probably fed up allready. My tail lights have both the condensation "problem" (a bit annoying) my cold idle is a bit harsh, and I get some funny smells sometimes. The Bose is a bit worse than what I expected .. and it takes two or three times to get the doors shut... Thats on the "problems" area. No oil consumption until now. The power is a bit lacking ....below 1500 rpm. Every time I get out of it I have a big grin in my face. My wife tells me that I am starting to develop a "boy racer" attitude ;) . I am 1m87cm but the moonroof is no problem at all. It provides an extra window for my 3year old daughter behind me... She always urges me to ride the "grey" car. Kids can tell..!!!!! And the boot I was worried about manages well all our weekend stuff. I am now in search for a device to keep cats away from my beauty... Any ideas???
Ok. Here are some photos:

i3man 01-05-2004, 03:03 PM The 8 looks much better when it's clean :) Nice pics though, those surroundings are definitely not some place you'd find where I live.
Get ready for the Olympics!!!! Athens 2004!!!
mikeb 01-05-2004, 03:04 PM Wow

powerhead 01-05-2004, 03:20 PM Final.
Have a good motoring year.....
i3man 01-05-2004, 03:29 PM what are those things under the headlights on the bumper? i don't think we have those things on U.S. models.
powerhead 01-05-2004, 03:31 PM Headlight washers...
epitrochoid 01-05-2004, 04:50 PM theyre required on ECE cars with HID. it likely has auto leveling headlights too.
druck 01-05-2004, 08:43 PM The self levelling mechanism makes a great noise when you turn the lights on, for best results lower the window and turn them on before the engine.
MazdaManiac 01-05-2004, 09:48 PM Are you near Glifada?
New Background for now...Nice
any interior pics? (wondering if anything is different than the US model)
XDEEDUBBX 01-06-2004, 04:23 AM those are headlight water squirters...there's a video link on this forum somewhere...search it..looks cool...btw...i hope the 8 doesn't fall in...looks like a pond of pee..
powerhead 01-06-2004, 08:47 AM Fan: The interior is exactly the same to the US model
Maniac: No, I am living in the oposite side of the city (north). Why? Are you visiting?? It would be fun....:)
Druck: It's nice to have some English with us again... I thought the French to be sovinist but...
My last fuel consumption was about 13,1 lt/100km (My first was 18 but it was half the tank city driving. Now it was mostly highway)
I just washed it for the first time. It's wondeful to caress these titanium curves :p.
Am I the only Greek owner here?? Where are the German and the French??? No cars there yet or they just like their BMW and Citroens?
Cheers...
5553cdz 01-06-2004, 10:20 AM i am living in suntown. I have the first nordic green-from 23/11/03.
Fuel cons. is 13-17lt/100km, with 4 persons(me,wife,2 kids).
slaughter 01-06-2004, 12:54 PM Wonderful pix!
Is that a "lip" spoiler as seen on M3's? Factory or ?
cruzdreamer 01-06-2004, 03:43 PM Love the scenery and the car!! Enjoy the ride!!
powerhead 01-06-2004, 03:44 PM The "lip" spoiler is standard on all European cars I think.... A bonus for the reduced hp ;)
slaughter 01-06-2004, 03:50 PM Looks sweet. Maybe I jumped the gun on the US Spoiler (Being installed as I type
brothervoodoo 01-06-2004, 08:45 PM Euro lip spoiler owns you all!
I want one. :)
very nice!! lovely country!!
slaughter 01-07-2004, 08:41 AM Okay, so the US spoiler looks pretty good too! Just got my car back.
The dealership did have a Mazdaspeed 8 there. I was very surprised to see one so soon. Not for sale though, just in the back lot.
Titanium with Bronze rims, me no like the color. But it was lowered, had the front kit etc. No Leather though??
Still can't decide what to lower mine with...thoughts?
Choppy 01-08-2004, 03:36 PM Powerhead very nice, and i love the location..
I have visited Athens in the past and will be coming once again this year summer time before i head out to the Islands then to the home country Cyprus.
I will be returing to Australia after that holiday once again as my business is based here.
Im waiting on the delivery off my 8 still to come in Feb 10th '04
Regards
Phillip
doctor-rx 01-15-2004, 06:59 PM Powerhead, you have a private message.
mayrojohn 02-03-2004, 12:13 PM Great pictures Powerhead,
I like both the place and the car.
Do you find the car convinient for a Greek family or you use it as a second car ?
Are the leader seats practical for children ?
Do you have any problems with the 18' wheels in the Greek roads ?
I' m asking you these questions because I want to decide what model should I order.
