Oh yea I dont have any comment for which car is 2nd to the Rx8. I have no desire for any other car!! (that I can afford in my life time anyway haha)

I don't mind an EVO 8 for the track though

i hear that ike! ive ben witing for that back since the day they took it away. i hear thru the grapevine that it might be back soon though.

now as far as second to the rx-8? my second choice would have been a mazda6s hatch if it was out then or (shut your eyes ike!) a wrx.

I would have bought a S2000 if the Rx-8 was not available and I had to buy a new car.

well i really wanted 4 seats. and the awd drive would have been helpful going up to the mountains for skiing or even just for hiking in the dryer season.

G35 would be my vote.

Had the 8 not been out there, I think I actually would have ended up with a 4runner.

But for sports cars, I would say the S2000 is 2nd, Z4 is 3rd. (This rating is based just upon how I like the cars, not a strict "performance" rating or anything)

I didn't realize you wanted 4 seats. In that case I would have got 2 S2000's.

The Porsche 959 is a close second.
Seriously, if the question is what was your second choice, mine was the G35.

I almost went with the G35. Then I saw an RX-8. So happy.

I seriously considered the G35 coupe as well. But it was too expensive, zero head room for rear passengers, and the coupe felt like a sedan.

Plus the dealership didn't allow anyone to demo the 6spd model. I wasn't about to buy a car they were to proud to let me test drive.

In the end, the sh** eating grin on my face during my daily comute lets me know I made the right decision.

could not find a 6 speed G35 to drive in NJ....drove the auto, then a manuel Z..

I gotta say the Infiniti G35. If the 8 wasn't around, I'd go with that ride.

If the 8 wasn't available, i would a kept driving my 92 accord...till more stuff fell off....
