first of all, I am posting this after getting permission from a mod.

I have organized this for a few non-car related clubs/society, now that i have an 8, and since this forum is quite tight and mature, I think it is a good idea.

please let me know if you guys are interested. and I will proceed to do more.

I can't give concerete prices yet, because it depends on how many pieces we're buying.

to keep things simple and cheap. I propose we have just one logo for all apparel.

The plan is:

Hoodies:
logo on left chest, and edge of the hood
~35USD

Tshirts:
logo on left chest
~25USD

Sweatpants:
logo on the left hip
~35USD

Flex fit caps:
logon on left front
~30USD

Toque:
logon in front
~25USD


prices will be lower, if i can get at at lesat 20 pieces of a particular item

I'd be interested in an 8 t-shirt in white. Maybe the small RX-8 Club.com on the upper left chest and a big logo on the back?

i had originally wanted to do the rx8 logo (or designs from members). but if that turns out to be the majority's preference, that's ok too

one more thing to note, whatever logo/words we put on, it is goign to be stitched on. I dont want to do any iron on stuff because they will be all flakey after a few wash.

What about screen printing? Different that iron on's and stitching...

Thanks for taking the lead on this! I'd be interested in a hoodie in gray or charcoal, and a white t-shirt.

I like the embroidered idea, but if you can find a silk screener that can do a "raised" pattern, that'll work too.

I would be in for a hoodie, and a few t-shirts. I too prefer the darker colors, but it would be cool to have a couple to wear to autocross events in the car color - in my case, Lightning Yellow!

Keep us posted, but I am in, pending the final design, for at least 1 hoodie and 3-4 tshirts.

toque is something you wear on your head, usually knitted material?

hoodie is just a regular sweatshirt with a hood.
t-shirt is just plain t-shirt

haven't decided what brand to use yet, but they will all be similar, and simple.

I will try to get the basic color (black, white, grey), and possible matching colors for the 8 (red, yellow, blue, dark green). but it totally depends on the interest i get for each color. for example. it does not make sense for me to order 1 red hoodie.

I am in for a hoodie and sweatpants but lets see some designs and colors.

I am in contact with a few suppliers and at the mean time coming up with a good design.

have lots on my plates, but will get this rolling as soon as possible. you can exepct about 3 weeks for something more concrete!

I think a black stretch fitted hat (so that it can fit numerous sized heads) w/ the Yellow RX-8 logo (or color of your 8) stitched on the front and the rotor symbol stitched on the back!! Vice-versa if so desired!

Same goes for sweatshirts (stitched) and t-shirts (silk-screened). Rotary symbol 3"x3" on the left breast and RX-8 (3/4" letters) on the left sleeve. Color would be based on vehicles color.

as for hats, we're not getting enough interest on those, it will be really expensive , so until we get more for hats, we'll probably skip it for now

I made some polo shirt and cap for myself. Computerised stitched logo with name..

A$50 set up fee and each about a$50 for polos A$35 for T-s... he said cost just a little more for name of individual names... can you do that over there?... I think I will do one for the Ozzie guys here if we can make the same logo and design.

we can definitely do it personalized with names, as I have done so before, but on average it was about 5-8 dollars extra last time i did it

we won't get into the money too deeply yet, im going to work on a logo first

Why not just have a simple rotary symbol in front, and the back have the same as the Rx8club sticker on the back?

im leaning towards the old vintage mazda logo inside a rotary symbol in the front, and Rx8 club in the back near the neck

Like the last one(#6) and #4. I don't really like that rotary symbol at all, sorry. Can you get that in various colors like red on a black shirt etc?

I like 5 and 6 (but 6 is by far the best of them).

I prefer 4 or 5 the most. Would there be a logo or something on the back? I would prefer to have some sort of design or lettering to finish off the back of a T-Shirt, but nothing overly large or garish. Just plain and simple like the front.

I've briefly read all the posts but couldn't find anyone asking about the quality of the clothing? I think this is a very wonderful idea and I'd like to congratulate, energie. I love to put in an order as well, but would like to know a couple things.

1. How good is the quality of the material used? I've purchased a hoodie from from my high school and after a few washes, it started to wear badly and aweful fuzz balls showed up. I don't know about other forum members but I'm personally willing to pay the extra $$$ if you went an extra step further and used a higher grade cloth.

2. What are the payment options? Would you accept money orders? I really hate using credit cards over the phone and internet.

but wait....the whole purpose of thongs are to SHOW your butt...so you wouldn't have any fabric to embroider Powered By Rotary...of course you could always go with the tattoo route..lol

Actually just have the rotary accent print right at the bunghole, it is the perfect classic look for any true Rotary enthusiast.

And in the front, "No Pistons here, Just lean mean Rotary" :D

My10ae...maybe you should check on the trademark thing for this fellow so he doesn't order things and not be able to sell them. I imagine to use RX8 logo (or otherwise) folks will run into the same issues as Miata....
