View Full Version : Selling my RX8!!! :(

Well everyone the time has come...

Tomorrow at around 1pm the buyer is going to pick it up at my house.

Me and the 8 have been through a lot of tough times together, work, school, friends, break-ups, meeting new girls, family, road trips.

I can remember whenever something bothered me or when I was feeling down I would just get in and take a drive and it would make everything better somehow.

This was the first car that I purchased myself brand new back in summer of 04. And I don't think that I will ever be as emotionally attached to a car ever again.

Thats right, I have car baggage.

Why am I selling you ask?

Well I frankly hardly drive it anymore. Gas prices got high and I cut down for a bit, then I got my maxima fixed and since thats better on gas and has a better stereo I use that as my daily drive.

So I figure its pointless to have a car that just sits in the garage when someone can be enjoying it and loving it as much as I did.

Of course I'm still going to be around lending a hand, and I'll be in a better financial situation when the next rotary car comes out.

In honor of my rx8 I have made the DIY - footwell light thread that I have been meaning to do for the last 4 yrs or so

Prepare to DIY your own footwell lights for $10

If you read his post, it will say 2 lines down

"Tomorrow at around 1pm the buyer is going to pick it up at my house."

That to me indicates sold....

I thought I was the only that felt this way about this car. I love driving late at night on St Rose and turning up the music and looking down at the bright lights of the Las Vegas Strip.

was that yours turboed in the first post? If so you shoulda kept it thats too much to go thru all over again. getting an 8 to the level of power it needs is better than sex I would imagine. The 8s ride/handling trade off doesnt happen often, not in C5 or C6 Z06s, bosxters, 911s,350Zs, new Camaro, WS6 Trans Ams, Eclipses, 300Z turbo, 00-09 stangs, Mini Cooper S, Supra turbo, or any other cars Ive ever driven.

Off topic: Test drove a Camaro SS last friday, its cool and all but steering was numb and wasnt feeling the plasticy gimmick interior, the back seats are smaller than Mustangs so pretty useless and at that point it dawned on me why not get a used C5 or better yet C6 for the same money with better steering/handling, quicker, and 600 lbs lighter? The ONLY reason I can see would be if you had kids 12 and under to haul.

It sucks. I sold my primo 280ZX Turbo because I wasn't driving it much (funny had a maxima too that I was driving at the time) and to this day I have always regretted it. My ex wife talked me into selling it and now I see it from time to time and its kinda beat-up. I even considered buying it back but I just have too much going on to buy an extra car.

Good luck man.

Yup that was my turbo. I have had every rx8 mod out there except for big brake kit, a bodykit, headers, and aftermarket seats.

Yeah driving in a 300+hp rx8 is def the way to go car is pretty uncontrollable at lower speeds and flys at higher speeds. Eats everything on the road for breakfast.

Extremely high maintenance though, aside from the install I was constantly worrying about my tune, and gas mileage (14mpg if driven nicely <7 if I got on it), and overheating.

Mazda deserves to get their ass kicked for discontinuing Winning Blue. That color is just so beautiful on any car. Every time I see a WB 3 or RX8 around here, I forget to breathe for a few seconds.

Very true words, I remember going out for fun drives in the country side and just forgetting about a rough day. This car is definitely something special to most of us
There very few cars out there in the same price range that can be a substitute for the 8, and even if there was another car with the same handling and easy to drive factor as the 8, its no rotary.

I wish you the best of luck
