He's down to $36k now. Probably still a good chunk of change to make it competitive, but a turbo 3-rotor is a good place to start!

From the below thread in which I got input from McKee and Strelnieks, the minimum weight for a 20B w/ forced induction would be 3,020lbs in SM trim. Ouch!!!

I'd much rather have a 13B with Forced Induction which has a minimum weight of 2,700lbs.
With that said, it looks like a beautiful car and would be a blast to drive!

No doubt that 20B car is very cool, but that's really "all the money" for what it represents...have to find a buyer with a serious 20B fetish.
I agree, a 13B turbo would be more effective for SM, given the RX8's weight breaks.:)
How about a twin-turbo 3.5/3.7 or the Mazdaspeed turbo 4? Not sure either would fit. I would think that as soon as the Mustang comes out with the twin turbo engine that most of the parts would be there to do that. Not sure either would really fit.

Strelnieks runs the 20B turbo in his FD3 RX-7, McKee runs the 13B turbo in his
the FD3 starts out lighter than an RX-8, weight isn't determined by chassis so in theory it makes no difference
the extra weight doesn't seem to hurt ... just sayin' :eyetwitch
the problem with the linked car FS is it would have to pass an import emissions inspection for street use which is highly unlikely and importing it as a non-street race car will still be a paperwork hassle, if the price was lowerit might be worth it
