seriously? is news this slow? since when is drunk sleeping illegal!? and why even report it? its a pointless article that i dont even understand what good it does to inform the general public that he was at home drunk sleeping before he was shot. I swear the news sometimes is just outright bored or slow when they report stuff like this... :banghead:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Authorities say former NFL star Steve McNair had a blood-alcohol level twice Tennessee's legal limit for driving when his girlfriend shot him to death.

Tennessee assistant medical examiner Feng Li said Monday that a toxicology report showed a trace amount of marijuana in the body of Sahel Kazemi. Police say the 20-year-old Kazemi shot McNair July 4 in a Nashville condo before killing herself.

Police say McNair was likely asleep when he was shot twice in the head and twice in the chest.

Li said there was no way to tell from the report how long before McNair's death he had been drinking.

Kazemi was arrested for drunken driving in Nashville two days before the shooting. Police video of the arrest showed her telling the officer that she was high.

News is mostly media hype for ratings these days. The recent tributes to Walter Cronkite reminded me that once upon in this country we had news that was newsworthy, presented in an unbiased professional manner. :(

The nerve of those people ... dissing a married father who was shacking up with another woman. Guy deserves a medal for that. :suspect:

that is news. just reporting to the general public the guy was drunk when shot... that makes no sense.

Yeah, but he has already been judged by the only being that matters.

It would make sense to report his blood alcohol level if there had been some sign of a struggle, or if they had been seen fighting at a club earlier in the night or something, and perhaps alcohol would have been a contributing factor.

But as it was, it sounds to me like he had just been out drinking, came home, and fell asleep on the couch. Not really newsworthy.

What makes it slightly interesting to me, however, is that according to one article I read, the owner of a club he frequented noted that McNair was "not really a big drinker", so maybe his high BA level indicates he was a bit troubled by something?

My knee-jerk opinion - he had that "what the fuck am I doing?" moment, told Kazeemi they wouldn't be getting married (perhaps even ended their relationship), and she went coo-coo for cocoa puffs and killed him.

^ dont think the last part is the case. as I think she had the intentions of doing this for awhile, as the gun was purchased 2 weeks prior. and obviously some time before that was when she considered the gun, so this could have been easily plotted for 4-5 weeks if now 2+ months by her...

Cav, she bought the gun 2 DAYS prior, not 2 weeks.

According to the same article, she had been upset for about 2 weeks.
