can anyone suggest some summer performance tires and some winter tires for the RX8

i would be looking for tires that wont wear out after 15-20k miles

maybe something that will last a good 50k miles

 

I don't think they make tires that are designed for long tread life when you get to 45 series tires...and definitely nothing that will last 50K miles. Right now there is a very limited selection of tires available in this size. The Bridgestone S-03 Pole Positions seem to have the best reviews of the replacement tires for the 8.

I'm not sure if it's practical or possible but if you want tires that are going to last a long time, you need to down size to 17-inch or even 16-inch rims and tires in a 60 series.

The 8 was not designed this way and you'd be defeating the purpose of having a car like this by doing so. If tire wear is that important to you, you probably should be looking at another car.

 

screw that lol i will just have to buy new tires more frequently than i planned

 

I imagine in another 6 months there will be a whole bunch of 8 owners replacing tires at which time we'll be able to get a lot more information on possible replacements.
