Just wanted to see what you guys thought. It took about 1 1/2 - 2 hours to tape off the lettering but well worth it. I used Duplicolor Engine Enamel good to 500*F Red of course. http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm313/xOMazdaRx8Ox/DSC_0125.jpg

is a can of spray paint really that hard to use?
kinda looks like it has a wrinkle finish.

thats cool nuke thats why i was looking for input and you are the only one to see a "wrinkly" finish but thnx. it kinda looks it now that u say that

wow very nice and clean looking. taping all that off so that no paint would show up would drive me crazy lol

I think maybe it's just that the engine cover plastic itself is not very smooth, so an even layer of paint will actually not be very smooth either. The gloss finish of the paint will just highlight the wrinkly finish of the plastic more than the less shiny black plastic.
