could mazda bring a new miata coupe later this year?

Maybe in 2005, and it would be called and RX-7 :D

I wouldn't say that..rx7s were generally around 170 inches in length where the miata is around 150 inches.....the miata is a roadster...which is a small convertible sports car....where the rx7...is too big (but more practical) to be considered a true roadster.

exactly! that is why a coupe like that which was pictured and which herc was talking about could be the next rx-7

While they are both 2 seaters...I still see them as two different animals...the miata's dimensions (especiallyy length) are so much smaller...that the car has a totally different feel....In addition I believe there were RX7 convertibles in the past....which I'm sure miata owners would say were vastly different than miatas (besides the rotary engine of course)

Smart idea for a Miata coupe, but they better wait for the new Miata (and I think they will)

According to motortrend the next miata will have a manual hard top. So that makes it almost a coupe.
