I have a white 05 that I have been thinking of getting the V in the hood painted. Some of you may remember the red one that has a decal. I went to the decal site but it doesn't seem to be working. I went to a body shop today and they quoted me for painting the V to be 175. They said they recommend clear coating it also and they would do the whole hood. They said that would cost 368. My question is, is it worth it to get the clear coat for an extra 200 dollars just for that little part of the hood. Would it make a difference? Basically you would just be able to feel where they painted the black on and it wouldn't be as protected.

 

Does anyone know if the clear coat is necessary for double the price?

 

Rest of the hood should already have clearcoat, if it's already got paint...

 

you should just go to a graphics shop and get a vinyl made. it should be way cheaper and you can take it off later if you decide to.
