Kurt can sing!

I don't really care about his gap or how he doesn't fit the look of an idol, but that guy gave sings like an angel. Goose bumps was going crazy when he sang beautiful day.

i caught the very end of it there when they had all the final voting. That guy sure isn't too attractive, eesh. I guess he can sing though, good for him.

I'm with Moogle on this one. I thought "what the hell could be so great about this guy" until he broke into U2's "Beautiful Day" and I thought "WOW... if Bono ever got sick this guy could fill in as long as needed." It was almost unbelievable. I thought he HAD to be singing over cover vocals it was THAT good. I just would have liked to hear him do one or two of his own songs or add some unique features to beautiful day so you KNEW FOR SURE that it was him singing. Incredible job!!

C'mon mental pimp, expand your horizons a little. My wife was watching that whole American/World Idol thing and most of the people were extremely talented and entertaining. I definitely would'nt call it "crap". Then again this is only my opinion and conversly, you are entitled to yours also:-)

To be a world Idol, you have to be attractive. It isn't just a singing contest, there is more to it than that, such as looks and showmanship.

Yea, if looks had been a criteria, that dude would have finished nearly dead last. Fact of the matter is that if you had closed your eyes while he was singing you could not have differentiated between this kid and U2's Bono. Showmanshipwise he was pretty milli-vanilli plain jane. Nothing special. His winning has quite a bit to do with subjectivity and the general anti-american sentiments around the world. If Kelly Clarkson had won everyone would have said it was rigged. It's a contest with HUMAN judges, so anything can happen.

You hit the nail on the head there. In fact, I'm surprised Kelly Clarkson finished as high as she did.

Not that any of this really matters, though.... :p

Regardless of world politics and how that may or may-not have come into the voitng, I'd say the guy who won can sing the tits off Kelly Clarkeson and deserved to win. There are some pretty fugly lead singers in popular bands out there - take Marylin Manson for example (for whom I have a lot of respect after I heard him do a couple of interviews).

As to wheter or not it's "girls stuff" - whatever. I'd rather hear that guy sing than wach Mr. Margera break his poor mother's front door down (again).

As for "who won" - it was the Kurt guy from Norway...

I am not going into worlds view and anti-american sentiments, but I am going to say that he can sing! Kelly sang great but kurt knocks the dust off her. I dl a few of his american idol props and dam he can really sing. Also Idol is judge on performance not looks bcz if that was the case ruben should've lost also.

@ the last show Kelly was suprised @ the end when she heard kurt sang and said wow! So she already knew she lost.

I thought Kurt Nilsen did a great job with Beautiful Day, but I'd have to hear him do something else before I'd say he's better than Kelly Clarkson. She's got a heck of a voice.
