Seriously looking at getting an 8. Have an 05 and an 06 in consideration right now. So I've been doing some research on the interwebs and have found a lot of horror stories regarding the engine failing and Mazda being evasive about backing up their product. Specifically, I was looking at this thread:

I know this is an RX-8 forum and will most likely be biased, but I'm looking for objective observations about your owner experience as well as experience with warranty work/dealership relationships.

Any feedback would be very much appreciated....

The engine is now warranted out to 100K miles, so how can you loose?

Seriously, as you might expect, the relatively few that have had engine problems have understandably posted far more than the silent majority, myself included ('05), that have had absolutely no problems.

Some dealers are better than others. My local is better than most, but I still do allot of maintenance items myself, just to be sure.

 

Anyone in the Seattle area have any reviews of the neighborhood Mazda dealerships here?
