I was just wondering if anyone rides the Metro in the DC/MD/VA area. If your local most of you have found out about the tragic accident of one rail car raming into another and over lapping. Killing 9 so far and wounding close to 80 other passengers.

If you do ride the Metro good luck on getting home today. Try to leave an hour early as all trains are about an hour behind due to the accident yesterday evening.

If you know of anyone that was hurt or killed in this accident my sincere condolences go with them.

I ride the Metro myself everyday for work, So i can imagine how horrifying that was.

I saw that on the news yesterday, so sad, any details as to why or simply human error?

As a fellow train riding (different city) I can imagine how it would shake up the entire town.

I believe it was Human error. The train operator was going about 50mph and clearly has a visible sight of the train infront of it for a good 1/4 miles. The train infront was parked awaiting authorization to move onto the platform. Apparently no one could communicate with the train operator to tell her to slow down and stop. She just rammed the train into the one ahead.
