So I just filled my car up for the first time since I got my oil changed. I usually can squeeze about 18-18.5mpg out of a tank lately on my normal work route, but based on my driving over the past week I was expecting about 17 ;) .

Anyway, I just calculated the mileage and it came out to 19.8mpg!! I was amazed. I don't remember going anywhere or taking any long trips that would have improved my mileage. The last tank was from a different station then I normally get it from, so I'll see this tank because I went to my normal station. Hopefully my dealer preformed some secret vodoo ritual to increase my gas mileage!

Anyone experience better mpg after taking it to the dealer for an oil change???

If you are implying that your oil change got you better mpg, then I have some things I would like to sell you.

I was hoping for something more like the dealer hooking a computer up to the ecu and flipping a magical switch... but you selling anything cheap? I'm always a sucker for a good deal. :p

it may seem like its due to the oil change but in reality its probably because you have at least 3k miles on your engine since you said it was your first oil change, and it's breaking in.

Hmmm, hasn't worked that way for me. After my first oil change, my mileage has gone down a bit. I'm attributing it to winter gas, though. ;)
